Yes it's legal. As for Midas doing it, you'd just have to swing in there one day and ask. I don't see why not though. I would say it shouldn't cost more than 50 or 60 bucks, if that. Just make sure when you get it done, before you leave, make sure your O2 sensor wires are not hanging. And don't wink at me, It scare me and makes me think maybe you are a fruitcake and your girl is a coverup.lol!!!!! I KID, I KID!!!

lmao sorry dude for the wink i ment this MANLY RAMBO STYLE :th_gun-rifle: anyways ill check into it and get er done maybe soon will it increase performance? :th_scratchhead: :th_gnome: haha GNOME!

Ok this maybe a stupid question but i was just wondering where the u bend is actually at i was looking on day not real close or nothing but i just wondered if it was an easy thing to change.

so i got really bored today jacked my car up on 1 side crawled under and i can honestly say everythinig is in pretty damn good shape i have never looks underneath since i got her "2 months ago".... anyways i discovered the u bend when the sensor goes in and the resantor tube so if i converted to a stirght pipe from the cat to the dual exhaust divider... thats what people do right when they delete the u bend and ressy right?? j.w also... how would my sensor be put back in?? would they or i have to cut a hole in the stright pipe for it to fit in or ????

Ya GTPJOE90 i totally just got your post right after i sent my one asking about the O2 sensor postition. I would like to know all this also i want to hear the exhaust on my car not just the intake. LOL

When the u-bend delete is done, the 4to 5 inch piece of pipe right there at the bend is replaced with a straight piece. The O2 is going to be inserted from the side instead of the top. That's why I said make sure your O2 wires aren't hanging down before you leave the exhaust shop. As for the resonator, that's a different thing. If you delete that and you change your mufflers, it will have a raspy tone. If you leave it on and change your mufflers, you should have a deeper sounding tone. Or you can be like me and hack off the resonator and mufflers and have it loud as heck.lol!!! Don't do that.

Is this u bend something like i could do in my garage or dose it require more experience. and do you have to drill your own O2 sensor hole or is there a kit out there just for the u bend delete that has a pre drilled hole.

no i want the stock mufflers as for now... maybe down the road have em done up with some performance stuff. but for no i want the u bend delete and the resssy deleted also will this sound better then stock? and will my 02 sensor be put into the stright pipe?

You can do a straight pipe from the cat to the "Y pipe" (the dual exhaust divider) but in order to do so it would be much easier to just get an aftermarket "downpipe" which runs from the exhaust manifold to the resonator and it also eliminates the U bend. Most downpipes just bolt right up, which could save you money on having a straight pipe welded up. You can buy downpipes with the O2 sensor hole(a.k.a. "O2 bung") already welded into it, so that would take care of your rear O2 sensor problem. But the idea you have sounds like you want to get rid of the resonator as well. But you don't have to and i wouldn't recommend it, especially with a V6. Removing the resonator, especially with an aftermarket exhaust, WILL create a raspy sound in your exhaust. It will pretty much only sound good until you step on the gas. Plus, you're keeping your stock mufflers so im really not sure how bad/good that might sound. But, if you really want the straight pipe idea most places could weld an O2 hole into the straight pipe for you, for a price im sure.

Yep, there is a "kit" you can buy. but its not really a kit, more like a single piece. But anyway, it is actually called a "U bend delete" and you can find it at zzperformance.com,wbodystore.com,3800performance.com, maybe some other places. Just go to any of the afforementioned sites' exhaust section and you should be able to find it. I wouldnt recommend this project for the inexperienced, at least not without an experienced buddy around to help. And the U bend delete has an O2 hole already in it.
