Super Charger Oil Change

With a turkey baster and a jar you don't care about...because it'll be the nastyiestest grossesest thing you've ever smelled.

Remove the fill hole in the snout...suck the old oil out...fill with new S/C oil. Done.

That nasty crap gets on your hands and its "Oh no, you stink. GTFO" from any female for the next several days, Orange Goop does NOT get that smell out :(

In case you need to replace the coupler too this is the info for you

FWIW, I have never worn gloves to work on a car unless it was hot and I had to do the work right away. But IMO, gloves suck. I can't feel nuttin. And a lot of times, you need to work by feel, not by sight. And I just don't have the feeling needed to do stuff with gloves on.

And my lady don't care what I smell like, she can't resist me. :D

Watch out..you might catch her diddling around with a skunk.

FWIW I almost always wear gloves. Work in an office during the day. Can't have hands looking grimey etc. You get used to them.

when i have to get into something thats all nasty, i wear 3 pairs of latex gloves, that way when the top glove rips, you just take it off and still have protection. and a new clean glove.

I was up to my armpits in grease last night on the regal (did I ever say how much I hate new cars that are dirty underneath) and here I sit in my office (I'm and engineer). The only downside is it tastes funny when I bite my fingernails and crew on grease.

LOL, every time I head in to clean up.. My hands are the only clean part of my arms. Just easier to have clean nails/fingers. My skin had been impregnated with all that crap.

Which is why each time I do a motor, the car rolls out, gets pressure washed and the install is usually nice and clean.

I totally hear you on chewing dirt. :D

If your lady can stand the stanky stank of supercharger oil after its been used heavily and is now black nastiness... shes nasty. No offense but I had family and friend both ask what that god aweful smell was 2-3 days after I changed the coupler the first time.
I work at a dealership, in the shop half the time, they're use to me smelling like oil and car parts, GF loves the smell "Ode de Mechanik" :th_laugh-lol2: but even she said I wasn't getting close to her until my hands lost that smell...
Since then I use gloves when dealing with supercharger fluid

FWIW, I usually don't coat my hands in the used SC oil. Maybe that is why she never complains. I actually use a snot sucker thing from walmart baby isle. Works better for the smaller hole in the snout than the turkey baster. But I suck up some old fluid and squeeze it out into a bottle. I don't get much on my hands or around the car. I dunno, just me. It does usually smell pretty stank. But I never notice the smell on myself after I am done changing it.

But thank you for calling my wife nasty.

LOL Like I said no offense to her, just saying. The first time I ever even messed with the fluid was when I changed the coupler. Car was at 67k and Im sure the fluid was NEVER changed. It was nasty and and first time pulling the snout, it got all over the place. Couldn't help get it on my hands but I didn't think it would stick to me like it did... stuff soaked in and :th_sick1:

Since then I have worn gloves when messing with it cuz that was a lesson well learned and I don't want to deal with it again. For those that HAVE NOT done this before, just trying to save some headache later. That smell is a real mood killer :th_jester:

Thanks for the info guys. I used a squirt bottle... removed the bottle and stuck the tube down into the SC and squirted the used oil into the bottle. The oil was not that dirty and not too stinky either. We just bought the car 2500 miles ago so I'm guessing the oil was changed not too long ago. Oh well better safe than sorry right? The guy at the GM dealership said it takes two 4 oz. bottles. We removed about 6.5 ounces of dirty oil and put in 8 ounces of new oil filling it right up to the bottom of the threads. So it looked like it was running a little low on oil. As far as the gloves go I don't wear em unless I have to because of heat or if I think I may rack my knuckles. After almost 21 years of marriage my wife rarely gets close enough to smell my hands anyways LMAO!

i want to smell this stinky oil. can someone mail me a sample? haha jk

been hearing about it for years but have never had the chance.. changed mine 3x so far.. even smelled the new stuff from GM yesterday.. its clean.

:(

yeah - latex gloves bro, not talking about wood working / metal work gloves... lol.. you can feel everything, and you get better grip because the fingertips usually have grippers.
