Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Raced a 4th gen Camaro on the highway last night.

So i'm heading home after eating some of sliders wings and all of a sudden I hear a loud rev from a camaro (when I later talked to him he said he was monitoring his oil pressure and checking it from time to time, that's why he rev'd it, lol) and I figured "OMGZ MAI FIRST RANDOM HIGHWAYZ RACE" so I retorted with my quiet but loud whine rev. We both just took off two seconds from that around 60mph, we went up to about 110mph and he put about 4-5 lengths on me. I thought I could do better, so we slowed down next to each other and held up one finger, trying to say one more time and we went from three honks at 60mph again. This time it was alittle better, he pulled me by only 3-4 lengths. So we slowed down and gave each other a thumbs up. I tried to ask him what he had for mods and at the time all I heard was "exhaust, ported tb and lid". I told him "pretty much rockers and headers" lol. He asked for one more, and I said "sure". We went from 75mph this time and he just destroyed me, he was working on bus length number 3 when we shut off around 115mph. I thought he was screwing with me before or used alittle giggle gas this time around lol. So we ended up signaling to get off on an exit because we were talking about posting it up on our forums(us nerdy car guys) and we just pull off on the side of a parking lot.

His name was nick and he said he's on ls1tech (blackgasguzzler). He told me he has a 2000 ls1 6spd with a slp lid/ram air setup with a ported tb, cat-back, ls6 cam and a tune. Hell of a nice guy and we talked for about half an hour about our cars. He said when I downshifted into second on the second run and heard the blower he got nervous for a second lol. He told me he didn't expect it from the mods I had(I told him all my mods by this point) and he said that he gunned it because he was testing his oil pressure. He saw my car around that time and "didn't think the grand prix would race" when he was cruising around. We both got a laugh out of that, lol. We were talking about the runs and he said my 2nd run was my best possibly due to my downshift and powerband at 60mph, he said his cars sweet spot is around 75mph, which is most likely why he killed me on the third run.

In the end, I had yummy wings and reese peanut butter pie at sliders and I almost made a camaro guy sweat for a second, but then reality kicked in and I got beat, lol. While this is obviously not a kill for me, I have motivation out the ass for modding my car. :D

/Cool story, bro

Awesome story i love meeting people like that you can literally talk cars all day with them! Nice race tho at least u kept up:P

WOOOOO...

Now go put on the 3.4"...because it would have been a little better for ya...you got the mods for it brutha...get at it!

Yeah I have one sitting in the garage along with a spare lim and gen 3. I plan on porting the latter two and doing the pulley with a tune. Then i'll try to contact him for a rematch. :D

BS.....

4th gen Camaros NEVA LOSE!!!

watcha talkin bout willis

Truth though, LS motors have incredible top end power, Its the flow of the heads, straight shot. huge hole. just like a fat girl

Lt's need a little help due to being older SBC technology but they can still flow just fine.

I know with my motor i don't make power till after 3200rpm then finally kick off around 5900rpm

The tach says 7000rpm when im in it but in reality its around 5900,

good race though, even if you lose its still very fun, It's a good thing people still love racing even if they lose.

I never took on a race I wasn't willing to lose.

Overall decent job. You do know where to come before you are ready to go visit him again, right?

Thanks guys, and bill even if I knew I was going to lose at leat I know where I would be at in a race like that. Plus with the guy admiting he got nervous for a second it was worth it lol, and yes when I need to get it tuned i'll stop by your speed shop. ;)

Daytona's came with forged internals made by the pit crews of nascar and blessed by john force. The trans......well I shouldn't have to worry about that for awhile. :D

Well, from "lid" I get LS1 car. From 4-5 carlengths 60-110, I get either you're really fast, or he's really a no-driving assclown. 60 is very top of second in an M6, and let me assure you, they're well on the way when you go to 3rd from that speed. Regardless, congrats, on, uh, whatever happened.

Sounds like you had a blast, love seeing people be able to admit they lost and be able to laugh it off, don't see it too often
