Whatever you decide to do just make sure the scoops are functional as they are on the Inferno hood, just as a side note, I believe the louvers on the Inferno were meant to allow heat to escape from the supercharged engine, they do get rather warm.

i tried a cowl hood on a spare 04 hood, i did the standard squared cowl, it didnt look right and ended up tossing it. if you could cut it at the the body lines and raise if from there, that might look good

Hmm, they both look promising IMO. If you made sure the front scoops on the WS6-style werent 10 feet tall then it would be perfect. I think the height of the scoops on the production WS6ish hoods are what kills it.

i saw someone on gpona attempt to make a 04+ hood and have the scoops in the same place as a g8...i cant find the link though. it sat back like the g8s and wasnt too far forward or too far back it was just perfect

I did it..lol I will need to dig it out of my basement and finish it..I started to many projects so maybe this year I will finish a few..lol

yeah, it works on that body style.. WAY too many curves on newer gp's to get away with a nose like that lol

my vote is still SD - id buy one if they were cheap enough!

I just ripped the door ding guards of my car earlier so apparently I'm doing some bodywork now... So I may do some hood stuff too, what did you plan to use to make the scoops shape and curves match perfectly? Is there an aftermarket scoop that we could mold in?

What I plan on doing first is getting a junk yard hood and trying the $145 ws6 hood scoop and fiberglass it on to the hood. If I like the way it comes out I'll make a mould so I can make the hoods out of fiberglass. The only thing about the sd's is I'd need someone with one in my area that would allow me to make a fiberglass mould of just the scoops then I could mould them on to hood and get them to go with the natural curves of the hood. It's a big project but I have a little time on my hands.

yeah you wouldnt need to keep a SD, just even make a decent plaster casting that could be used to make a negative, then just go thru the motions to make a mold

if you were REALLLLY ambitious, you could get an 04+ hood and a sh!t ton of clay, and make a template that way. i once saw someone make a hood template with some misc pieces and some bondo, looked like crap before the mold, but after it was cast it was a beauty

Speaking of the clay, I found a write up where a guy used polyurethane foam to make a mold for a hood scoop. He put masking tape over top of the foam after he carved it into shape and fiberglassed over top of it. It came out really good but I just can't see it working as well because of the size difference. Although I could be wrong.
