96 firebird vs. 07 mustang

so i picked up a 96 firebird formula today and had to put some miles on it. LT1 automatic. the only reason i went for the auto was because of the price, i kinda stole it from the guy lol. well, there's a guy i work with that has an 07 mustang, V6 auto. i'm not a mustang fan, but this is a nice car, especially for him being 18. we've been the the track before, he was running really low 15's for awhile, a couple 15.0's at 92. his fastest run was a 14.78 at 95 (i didn't believe it either, but i saw the slip). it impresses me for sure. we left work and decided to have some fun on the highway. being 3:30 in the morning it was open for miles. we dropped to 40 and i honked off. his downshifted first, and then i started pulling on him. i had half a car on him at 110. kind of annoying that he can stay that close, but i also paid a fifth of what he paid for his haha. kinda nice to see him in the rear view after getting a few good looks at his taillights in the GT

Nice kill, now go get some mods and go for the V8's. :th_thumbsup-wink:
don't tempt me lol. the grand prix's almost ready, i've been trying to build it for a year now

Wow a v6 mustang with a driver mod! a rare sight indeed...
no kidding, i was really proud of him when he ran that. there was a guy with a newer model 4.6 GT that could break 15's. he was a chode though. as were his two friends with 350Z's with fart cans that also couldn't break 15's

Cool story. I love smoking cars that are so expensive, the owner just cannot see it possible for their car to lose a race. I just had to smack a $60,000 Audi owner with the backhand of reality the other day. But that's neither here nor there. Great Kill. I'd love to hear more about that Lt1 with some mods on it!

i paid $3500 for it with 107,xxx on the clock. other than tires, brakes, and a nice paint job, it's practically perfect. i'd love to mod it, but i really wanna finish the 3800 build lol. i might put an intake and exhaust on it to make it rumble, but other than that, have you seen the engine bay of an F-body? they had elves build it or something, it's tighter than... well, nevermind

Nice, i just picked up a 96 T/A myself. Had a Formula a few years ago. Fun to drive. Great mustang eaters.
