THIS CAR SEEMS TO BE TURNING INTO A MONEY PIT....I ALREADY REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION, WINDOW MOTORS, TIE RODS, LOWER CONTROL ARMS, AND EVERYONE KEEPS TELLING ME TO JUST SELL IT.....IT WHINES LIKE POWER STEERING IS BAD BUT MECHANIC LOOKED AT IT AND SAYS IT'S GOOD...IS THIS COMMON?? ALSO, CAN I PUT A COLD AIR INTAKE ON THIS THING?? WHEN I DID THE TUNE UP I NOTICED A COMPUTER IN THE STOCK AIR BOX...WILL I MESS IT UP BY GUTTING THE AIRBOX AND REPLACING IT WITH COLD AIR INTAKE??:th_skull:
 


lmfao... welcome... the whine is your blower, you can put a open cone filter on it, wont hurt it, itll make the blower whine some more :D
 
well u came to the right place lol but seeings how youve already replaced the trans id hang on to it as the trans is one of the main weak points and in fact 99.8 precent of the people have gotten rid of there stock air box and replaced it with a cold air box or open cone or whatever they want take a look at the safely modding your 3800 car as alot of questions will be answered in there and take the time to research it
 
sorry about the caps...appreciate all the good advice...ive owned alot of fast cars..this is my first pontiac...ive owned mostly mustangs and impalas. my last fast machine was a 1995 ss impala...yeah..im gonna go ahead and do the k&n open cone filter..this car was dogged out by the previous owner...story of my life..buy em,fix em up, sell em...told the wife i think im gonna keep this one and build me a mean machine....talk to u guys later..thanks again..j.hernandez

If his car is stock, that's power steering pump whine.
Fill it with some fluid, call it a day. Power steering pumps in these cars just suck, all there is to it.

You won't hear blower whine until you put a cone on it.
 
lol...if someone went through all my posts on here and counted how many '...'s ive typed...it would probably blow up a small country
