Instrument Lights

I have a 1997 Grand Prix and my instrument lights went out and I changed the fuse and see the instrument lights still havent come on. Could this possibly be the light control module? Whats the best way to troubleshoot the light control module? Has anybody had this problem before? The headlights work.

did the whole cluster go dead at once or one by one and now you got nothing?

if so, you need to remove the cluster and on the back of it are the bulbs, you just twist the T's that are sticking out a bit to remove the bulbs. now's a good time to change the color of the dash lights if you ever wanted to as well.

It was the instrument panel, steering wheel and the shifter panel that shows P,R,N,D. Seems it all went at once, like i said I changed the fuse because it was burned out and still nothing. All interior lights work o.k. and the headlights work o.k with the sensor.

I just researched my situation and see its the DRL module. I'm going to disable it when I get home and see if that was the problem.

FWIW if you burned out the fuse. That is typically the same fuse as the tail lights.

If a wire in your trunk got mashed by a package..it's possible that's your fuse poppin issue. If GP's have the wires accessible in the trunk, that is.

us regal owners know about the pinched trunk wires for sure lol

Well I pulled the fuse for the DRL and it had no effect on the problem which is no cluster lights. Anybody have any suggestions??
