Ok so I have spent like $75 on trying to recharge my air and I am beyond TICKED off !!! I've used the little cans, big cans, dye cans blah blah.... After putting it in - I had NO cold air not even for a few minutes... I was mad - went home parked my car and could hear a hissing noise coming under the hood/ground area but seen nothing... it hissed for awhile... also I noticed while putting the freon in it looked like smoke under my car but not a lot just alittle but I am guessing it was freon? I don't know.. I can't find a leak if there is one... Also I noticed my compressor isn't spinning... Does it only spin if it holds freon? I am confused... :(
 


If you're low on refrigerant, your compressor will not engage.

If you have a hissing noise coming from the underside of you car I wold suspect you've picked up a rock and have a hole in your condensor.
 
It sounds like you could have broken/worn AC lines or have a hole in your AC condenser.. I would take it to a good shop that will inspect the ac system.. They have the correct tools to do so...
 
I just replaced my hoses due to the exact same problem. I had a crack in the little canister that sits right off the compressor. Took me 30 minutes to replace the hose assembly and was about $80 from Auto Zone.

is that called the evap canister??
