1. do we have to use dex-cool? can we use regular coolant

2. i need shocks (all 4), im strapped for cash, wats a good reasonable brand and is there any thing i need to look for in particular wen researching?
thanks fellas

only in heavy modded car is changing the thermo to a lower temp like a 180 to keep the system cooler when making alot of power.

On basic cars and slighty modded cars, a 195* (stock) thermo is best to keep the car running at its best and to get better mpgs and what not.

Just get a brand new 195* if you know its never been changed befor.

it is a good idea to switch to the green stuff, there was a huge lawsuit over dexcool. if anything id do it for piece of mind.

monroe are good for the price. getting the pre assembled ones saves you money but if your strapped you could just buy the parts over time, thats usually what i have to do. dont get the pre assembled ones from autozone they fail really fast.

Get rid of the dexcool garbage your car will thank you.I was seeing a huge amount of dexcool sludge in my reservior tank and at the nect of the radiator cap. Just use a good quality coolant to replace it.

should have done a better job keeping your cooling system sealed and it wouldnt have sludged up like that.

also, have fun finding coolant that isnt dexcool in the stores without reading the bottles for an hour. most of them on the shelf are dex, regardless of color.
