blew doors off of a 96 mustang base

coming home from pickin up my bro, this black 96ish mustang base model is sittin in front of me at a light.He had music blastin and had a "ok" soundin exhaust.So light turns green and he takes off so i punch it after him once i hit 30.i reel him in by 65 and easily after that put on 3 cars on him.I was near 100.So then a few miles later we turn down this straightaway and approach a stop.He asks "what you got in there?" I say just intake and exhaust stuff lol(my exhaust sounds pretty good)I say ill take you from a dig so we agree and mind you i got a full tank of gas, my 150lb bro and me at 205lbs.I get a slightly better reaction but my wheelspin tire burnin is crazy,even still by 40 i had a car on him and i keep goin to 90 and had at least 4-5 cars omn the dude.I was amazed and i thank the hv3 for that oomph above 4k cuz i pulled crazy on the guy.Btw he had an intake, full 2.5in exhaust with flowmaster tip, 5spd, and nice lookin tires.But another good kill under my belt.:th_king-evil:
 


Well, I thought you drove a GTP while reading the story, and laughed...but realising you drive a GT makes it a closer match.

Grats on the kill....and how the hell are you making a GT spin tires like crazy??
 
200 hp and gearing, I dont think it would be that hard. Hell I used to spin the tires off a 3.0 V6 140 hp automatic Dodge Shadow.

As for the "kill" I wouldn't be so proud. The 3.8 Stangs were SLOWWWWW.
 


Back in the day I had a 97 SE and had no problem breaking the tires loose. Even with heavy ass chrome 18's
 
Yea spinning my tires is really not that hard.when i was bone stock i would really have to hammer it 100% from a dig and just spin them a lil.now with this stuff i got even a lil more then half throttle i always can break my tires loose no matter what.it kinda sucks but ill find a way to launch good.And yea when i told him thats all i got he said "thats it? are you serious thats it?damn" lol
 
lol I had an S10 Xtreme with a 2.2L, which was easily the slowest vehicle I have ever owned, and even it was faster than a '96 V6 Mustang.
 


The OEM Goodyear Eagle GT I could break loose... hated those shoes. But when I put the Cooper CS4, could barely make them chirp. Now after many miles, they will spin if I tried.
 
Damn blue its like that haha.But i guess i do need new tires cuz they used.They're pretty good quality tires but ive had them for a year now and they seem whack. But i plan on some sort of performance tire set eventually
 
Get a set of aggressive Potenzas...

I could spin some serious tires when I had Donuts on the front of my GT.

Couldnt even chirp the Potenzas after 20k miles.

I used to be into s10's, granted I had a zr2 but I do recall stories about the tutu. The moon would get tired waiting around those things.:th_laugh-lol3:

Yea i like the quality of potenza tires plus the name sounds koo lol. I might snag those for a bday gift.
