where to put amp?

i have seen the show me your amp rack picture thread and i think i want to put my amp under the rear deck. But i was wondering if anyone could explain how to do it and what i would need to achieve this. Also where else is a good place to hide an amp in an 04 Grand Prix?

looked back to that thread and i now think i can manage that but does anyone have a guide for the front or rear speakers, like how to get the door panels off and tips on where to run the speaker wire back to the amp?

Where is this amp rack thread? I was planning on doing the same thing once I need more than one amp. For now I just mounted it on the side of the trunk like so:

Yeah yeah yeah I know it'll fall off eventually, but I'll have moved it before then.

oh yeah about the 3rd brake light and mounting it their will make no difference than sideways of flat air flow is what matters and if that was the case you could mount it upside down and take the cover off and not have to worry about something smashing it or sitting on it

the thread is on the third page of this section of the forum. also is there any place to mount it under the seats or anything where that will just hide the amp completely?

inside the 1/4 panels if you have a 2 door just take off the side panels next to the back seats, tho temp might be an issue if its not like a class AB amp. I def wouldnt stick a class D mono amp in their

if you have a 2 door
Are you doing drugs?

Just mount it upside down (or heck, rightside up if you're weird) on the bottom of the rear deck. Or screw it to the skinny rear seatback. Or screw it into the side of the trunk. Or mount it to the trunklid and work on arm strength. These are your only options; there are no others. Any ideas you may have beyond these are ridiculous and will not work.

Most amplifiers these days design heatsinks to be along the side of the amplifier. As long as they are side mounted you can invert the amp for mounting.

Nice amp, I have the gta 504 4 channel amp running my interior speakers and an alpine MRP-M500 mono block amp running my flat kenwood 12 inch sub. I built an amprack that sits just beneath the rear deck.
