• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Finally got my police report 3 days after my wreck, NOW I have to wait until Monday before I find out when I can get a rental, sucky thing is... YOU HAVE TO BE 21 TO RENT A FREGGIN CAR! which means, I have to have my dad get the car and list me as a secondary driver which means INSURANCE WON'T COVER IT. This sucks, for real. On top of that I can "expect" to get my check in 30 days to buy a new car.... how the fvck am I suppost to get to work? I swear... I just can't win to save my life.

Depending on your insurance, you might be able to get a rental and have coverage. When I wrecked my car, I was only 19, and I got a rental no problems. Since it was accident related and issued through insurance, they usually give you a rental.

We're kinda going through the same thing right now. Our van got totaled while it was minding it's own business, being parked right outside our house.

After a ****load of talking with both our insurance and the other idiots insurance, they decided to take the van and compensate us for it, in the meantime however, the other guy's insurers would pay for our rental.

We ended up getting a minivan for the next few days until things got finalized. I wanted to drive it back home, but according to the company that rented out the car for us, only my dad and his spouse (my mom) were allowed to drive it. No one else. If they get pulled over and there is someone else driving the rental car, they'll impound it and we're in deep ****.

As for as insurance coverage goes, anything that happens to the car, well the rental company files a claim through your insurance and your insurance has to pay for it. He told us if we paid a little more, we'd have this thing where it's fully covered, and we can bring back the rental car totaled, and neither we, nor our insurance would be involved in anything, the company's insurance takes care of all the repairs.

So you only have no fault on your car?

And the driver was at fault? Was he insured? Depending on which state you're in, as long as he's got insurance, and as long as it's his fault, HIS insurance company should pay for your rental, at least until your car is repaired, or compensated for.

We went through hell and back to get them to pay for our rental, but in the end they did it. Talk to your insurer.

This. Just went through it last summer, but through the other driver's insurance. They gave me a stripped HHR, total piece of crap.

I remember when your gp got totalled, I almost cried for you haha. I was at no fault, she was drunk and pulled out in front of me while I was on my way to work at 5 a.m. Her insurance told me that they have to contact her and if they don't it'll be monday before they can try again. I'll have to kick ass and take names to get my rental. But I NEED something to drive.

yeah i hate insurance companys, but when we totalled my wifes cavalier they took care of things. got a rental for 1 mo :) then a check in the mail.

if it was her fault they should pay for the rental and then you should only have to pay 15 dollars a day for the insurance on the rental because you dont have full coverage.

My dad has a 1992 silverado 4.3 5 speed with 300,000 miles, I'll pass haha.

Good news is, I called and raised hell and I'll be picking up my rental in about 1 hour.

FTL! I think it has the original clutch haha. They ended up putting me in a 2011 Dakota 4 door, I HATE IT. I had to choose between the dakota and a mini van, and if the mini van would have been GM I would have taken it. I hate dodge more and more every minute of my life
