Car will not move in D or 3 but will in 2 or 1 need HELP!

I have a 2001 GTP with 114k on it and the other day I was driving and missed my turn so I pulled into a driveway backed up put it in D and nothing. I got the car to limp off the road in 1 but D and 3 is like neutral. The fluid is full, nice and red doesnt smell burnt and the trans never showed any signs of slippage or bad activity until it just did this. I scanned it and the trans throws no codes. This is what it does when I manually shift it. Starting in 1 it slips but goes so I shift into 2 at about 10mph it slips then holds second pretty firm then at 25mph I shift into 3 it slips then it holds perfect and when I hit 45 I put it in D and the convertor locks up.

So is this electronic or do I need a rebuild? Any help is greatly appreciated.

The foward band in the transmission has broken. The reason 2 and 1 work is there is a smaller band called the manual 2-1 band that engages when you manually shift to either of those two gears.

You are going to need another trans or a rebuild. Sorry

If you dropped the pan...likely you would find a piece or be able to see up near the diff end enough to see a broken band
