Questions on speakers

Okay so i already have a kenwood excelon head unit but i have the factory speakers. I am looking to replace all four speakers and put them on a amp. My only problem is that i do not know what would be good speakers and an amp to power them. So if anyone can inform on a couple good options of speakers and amps to power those. Not looking to pay alot but max budget would be 500 bucks.

Kicker, Bose, Audio Pipe, Kenwood, Pioneer. All seem to be good brands for speakers. I ran two Sony 6"x9"s and they were ok, not exceptional. They sounded very crisp and clean, but were not able to go too loud. Im not sure how Audio Pipe is on speakers, but they are exceptional on subs, as I had two 750w 12"s. As for the amp, I used an Autotek and was pleased with it, but again, it was not incredibly exceptional, but was $150. Just stay away from Pyle for amps. Basically you pay for what you get. The more you pay, most likely, the higher quality.

Are you just looking to power the speakers and nothing else? if so a 300W amp would be perfect I know that sounds low but if all your runnning is the speaker that's perfect. Now if your doing subs you will need a higher wattage... I like JL audio pioneers are ok. Do some reviews online.

hrmmmm. I'll assume you have 97-03 body style. I'll also assume most people don't really hear a difference between $100 speakers or $500 speakers. So why not just go close your eyes and let somebody hit the buttons on a speaker wall at best buy? Pick the one that sounds best with your eyes closed?

If I were to buy some right now, I'd check out these speakers...

Mostly because I'm bored of my a/d/s/ and attempting to tune them for a stock install.

As for amps...whether it's a chinese rip off or made in Italy, they generally use the same circuits since the chinese robbed everybody with coherent thought processes...grab something that makes you feel warm and fuzzy inside? 100x2 is good enough. Show a picture of what you choose and we can help with install tips based on thermal loads.

Look up Infinity Kappa series speakers, they're clean, loud, and make respectable bass with a good amp. You can also find them on Amazon for below 200 total, leaving you plenty for your amp and wiring.

I completely agree. You need to really get out and hear the differences, do some reviews and find good deals. Ive seen countless sound systems all playing the same cd and all sounding just as good as the others. You can take a $200 system and rival with a $1000 system with the right tuning.
Asking people whats best for a certain price is like asking where to eat at for dinner on a budget. Your going to get other peoples opinions based on what they like and 90% of the time it will start a fight because one person will like something that another hates. Get out and listen for yourself and pick it out based on the price and how it sounds to YOU... in the end, your in the car listening to it... make yourself happy :th_thumbsup-wink:

personal preference Memphis audio, PR 5.25s and PR 6.5s both sets picked up at local store for $225, that still leaves room for amps and wires if your not looking for a sub at the current moment. :th_peaceout:
