My 04 turbo colorado (build, destroy and rebuild thread)

Re: My 04 turbo colorado (build thread)

Damn I was going through the thread and figured a dyno video or track vid would be next and BAM chipped pistons... Very sorry to see that fella, get her back together and try again!

Re: My 04 turbo colorado (build thread)

wow... what in the f*ck happened to #4? bet that was loud

thats from the piston ring bouncing around in the cylinder, actually it wasn't loud at all.. just the sh*t rattling inside the cylinder lol

Ya gotta learn somewhere...

How much knock was there?

messed up thing is while data logging with HPTuners, the scanning software never showed any knock at all... sooo my HPT is f**ked up or my knock sensors don't work

Re: My 04 turbo colorado (build thread)

That sux dude. I had to sell my 07 when I had my daughter. Id say go for the concept the had for the Colorado SS. Pretty much a 2wd trailblazer setup or just sa f*** it and get a LS1 in there I think it was sum dude in Tennessee that did that not sure been outta that scene for a few years. remember tho in 07 GM made a few changes in the I4 and I5. All this you probably know.

Re: My 04 turbo colorado (build thread)

i put the turbo up for sale.. everyone wants it but doesn't have the cash.. so f**k it, im buying another engine and starting over

Re: My 04 turbo colorado (build thread)

Nice price for it being that complete! Did you get to hear it run prior to being pulled?

Re: My 04 turbo colorado (build thread)

so i picked it up toady and guess what? the stripped all the accessories and hacked up the harness! f*ckin assholes.... whatever, they sold it to me for $650 instead of $800.. still a better deal than LQK wanting 1200 for one..

Re: My 04 turbo colorado (build thread)

Nice Delivery Truck!!! :th_laugh-lol2:

Glad you got the engine, sux that they hacked all the crap but I think it'd be better to just have the main engine go back in and use the parts you have that you KNOW work vs risking a broken wire causing problems or bad sensors or something like that later down the road, now you use all your old stuff with just the motor...

and don't forget the turbo, just get it properly tuned this time :th_jester:

Re: My 04 turbo colorado (build thread)

This thread made me jealous, sad, happy, mega sad, and now happy again. VIP award goes to you sir. Nicely done all around. Can't wait to see it goin again

Re: My 04 turbo colorado (build thread)

Did you really have to use that tiny little hole in the bottom of the bellhousing to get the TC bolts out? Can't wait to see some more vids of her up an running again...

nope, i pulled the starter out and the TC bolts were easy as hell to access, i don't think there's any way i could have gotten a wrench or ratchet in that access hole lol
