Rusting issues on the GTP?

I have a 99 gtp with door jam rusting issues on both of the rear doors and its not the rocker panel. So i was just wandering if this is a known problem or if there is a fix other than bond o.

there is no RIGHT way to fix rust without doin some bondo work, unless its really light rust. a good body man can bondo it n it will look sweet

I dont know much of body work that's why i got my degree in high performance auto technician, haha. I didn't know if it would be better for me to cut out the rest with a cut off wheel and weld in a new peiece rather than slapping some bondo on the pretty good size holes.

Sorry i mean screwed on i got a better look.haha I might take my chance of some advice from somebody else.

well i cut out the hood, n screwed on the scoops so ya they r, and they will be molded into the hood during summer. n my father has been a body man for over 30 years, n i am also an amateur body man. im not just talking out my ass here buddy.

next time someone tries to help u, take a note and dont be such a dickhead :th_shakinghead2:

You gotta admit, you did scoop an SE. You have to see why he may be weary.

yes, but have u seen anybody else do it? since when does everybody hate it so much when someone does something different?:th_tongue2:
i understand it to a point, but that doesnt change the fact that i can tell him EXACTLY wut to do to fix it, seeing as i do it part time myself.
i WAS willing to help him out, but that was unnecessary.

Yeah, every ricer out there. Besides all that, I think what turned him off to your advise is your rust spots on your hood.

so every ricer out there on the road has hood scoops that are cut into the hood, and actually functional? i kno i see them just fake, but not like mine man. n ya i got a little rust. havent got to fixing all of it. if u kno anything about body guys, the last car that gets fixed is theirs :p

hahaha..werd! But thats what friends with benefits are for. They buy their own chit, and are just a phone call away

HAHA sorry to start that heated chat. The bolted down hood scoops did throw me off and if u did the work to cut them out why not just mold them in. As far as the bondo issuies i think im happier with the idea of cutting and welding in new sheet metal.

Started the thread to see if anybody had good advice other than bondo.
