How are you keeping underhood temps down?

I wrapped my headers and have a fwi, but I still feel like I'm going to be pulling hot air into my engine. Like my air intake tube will get hot. I made it out of 3 1/2" aluminum tubing. Should I wrap that w/ header wrap or will that not do anything? I'm thinking about making a heat extractor in my hood. Any ideas or input?

I did some measuring of underhood temps before I put my headers on. Stainless steel does not conduct heat as well as mild steel. I had a drop in underhood temps after my header install compared to the stock manifolds and they were not coated.

The weatherstrip is a good idea. But the midgets could be good too. What kind of salary do they require?

I stole umpa lumpas from willy down the road, they agreed to work for free if I dont butt sechs them. Like he did.

My weather stripping, engine cover and drip pan on my daytona were already removed when I bought it, lol.

I changed my fan settings.

I run a 180* t-stat.

I run an electric water pump.

I have TOG coated headers (un wrapped)

Probably the BIGGEST help is the MPD F1 hood. :th_thumb-up:

I think I'll just go w/ weather stripping. I like a couple of the aftermarket hoods but I already have enough money wrapped up in this $3000 car.
