Painting the Grill

Currently I have the stock black plastic honeycomb grill in my black GTP. What would you think about painting them gray or silver to match the interior? Its the Special Edition with black and gray leather interior.

It never looks good. But its worth a shot....if you dont like them you can always respray it to its original color.

i wouldnt, it looks bad.

if u do, paint the screw holes black so theyre basically invisible. thats usually what makes it look bad.

Would I just be better off shelling out the money to buy a mesh grill?

i love mine. they make the car look good imo. if u do go to wbodystore.com. theyre $10 cheaper than pfyc

if you want to paint it, try to get some dark silver paint to match the lower front facia and do the outline of the honeycombs like i did.

@dpzelenak - You need to tint your windows and Paint the Lower Mid Section of the Front Bumper black to match, and same on back... but tape off the PONTIAC and leave it white if you can... will really help out on the accents :th_thumbsup-wink:

To Jake - Depending on the color of your car, I would just go with the mesh grills top and bottom. It really makes a difference and unless you are just a Pro Painter, they usually get messed up. Just really hard to get all the points inside the honeycomb part painted good because of how small the holes are. Its doable but more often than not they get fubar'd. Plus the mesh grills bevel out to give a nice flush look, where the factories are recessed in. Altho if you want a different look I personally like the GPO Inserts

yea i know i plan on it,, and im looking to get a gt kit but what do you mean by taping off pontiac
i plan on fillin in the front plate so there no lines just pontiac

he has an se broski. those dont have the pontiac.

The mounting holes is what bothers me. Painting that part black like mentioned above would look much better!

I painted mine awhile back. I liked them a lot better than the black but eventually I went with the mesh!

yea i dont have that bottom piece yet but it has pontiac above the plate i dont know how it'll look with both back there

it already has pontiac on it and if the get the lower black piece it'll have pontiac on both top and bottom
