Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

I need stock replacements so i decided to ask you guys for help. I dont want to loose the stock "umpf" midbass i get since i like the way stock system sounds. I am NOT buying an amp or a different headunit. So please, if youre gonna say "get an amp and a 50 inch sub broh" im going to tell you to go F urself. kthxbye.

I haz teh non-bose 7band eq head unit w/ the 5.25 and 6x9's in the back.

My GF got me for last years Bday present matching Memphis Power Reference 5 1/2s and 6x9s because my speakers were blown when I bought the car. Still rocking them, they are amazing, no amps just the regular cd player with 7way Eq :th_thumbsup-wink:

Local store walk out was $225 for both sets like $99 per

Edit - http://www.memphiscaraudio.com/products/speakers/power-reference-coaxial-speakers/

Take notice of the 15-PR52V2 & 15-PR693V2. The tweeters are angle adjustable, I set the 5 1/4s straight as the door panels angle to begin with, but the 6x9s are angled forward

im also running both the same ones tlsheff mentioned except mine are amped. They are good speakers for vocals but seriously lack any type of bass. They are very clear but if your wanting that umpf i suggest not getting them.

Then you got a bad pair or didnt adjust the 7 way eq right.... Mine have plenty of bass... a friend thought I got a sub too the 6x9 hit!

Wasn't referring to amperage.

thats the number of amps he'll need.

Its kinda obvious, get what you are willing to spend.

Chances are, you'll top out at $100 a pair. that'll get you some decent speakers.

I kno, figured min 1000watt amp x 15.6... amps would be 15,000+ watts for 29 18s.... is that really gonna be enough was a joking question. :p

OP -
Do some research, hit up a couple sound centers and listen to the setups. Your not really gonna get a feel for what is best unless you hear it personally. I love Memphis, used them for over a decade now, subs, amps, speakers, all of it... they are great, but to our local car audio specialist they are lower/mid grade quality, good for the price but overall in his opinion, lower quality. Focal is his cream of the crop, so to speak. Its all in what you can afford, and what your looking to do with your sound system.

Research, research, research, then buy

whats funny about that? I don't know how the audio centers are where you are (btw not like Bestbuy or Franchise Store... actual car audio only centers)
Our local guy has 1 room, with 4 different setups for the 4 different brands he is authorized to sell. Planet Audio (yuck, but cheap), Memphis Audio, JBL, & Focal. They're setup independent of each other so you can get a feel for the difference and what you really want.

Hes kind of a enthusiast with audio so he may just be different but Ive seen similar setups in Dallas Tx and Tulsa Ok so I don't think so

How do you think it will sound when the drivers are firing at your legs?

The boards dont simulate that.

They simulate home audio.

Will it matter when you tell them your just shopping for the 5 1/4s and 6x9s? The amps and subs can be turned off so you can just hear how the speakers by themselves will sound. If they can't then they fail and you need to find a new venue.

OP doesnt want subs or aftermarket head unit... just good stock replacements. That is what I did with the memphis speakers in my car, just wired them in and adjusted the 7-way EQ on the factory cd player, sounds great. No amps, no subs, just good clean clear driving music, with moderate boom given the setup. @ $225 out the door where I bought them from
