alright so new here, like the site it looks pretty close knit unlike so many ive seen. i like how all the grand prix clubs are actually easy to find here. k so about my ride... 2000 grand prix gtp coupe... only mods so far are 15% window tint, 8000k hid's, and the speed limiter removed... i have beat some cars that i shouldnt have numerous times, so while my engine appears stock im starting to want to dyno it cause im questioning if maybe somewhere inside its got some work done lol. either that or i just drive good, and the others drivers suck... either way im happy. ive got a lot of plans for this car just need to get the budget going. when im done, im targeting low 10's, with a clean look, not overdone. the factory bose audio is more than enough to satisfy i mean how many systems can rattle the trunk stock? but i still might just add one self-powered lil subwoofer just for a tiny bit more boom. nothing excessive though as i dont want to overpower the sound of the rest of the system. this is my 5th grand prix... 3rd gtp... and i have always loved them, i got another one cause i missed having them. 97-03 is my personal favorite body style, but i do like the 90's model coupes, and the 04+ models... they all have their perks. so far ive had really good luck with the reliability of the grand prixs, they just dont break... its one of very few cars that can handle how hard i drive it without complaining... so far ive only had 4 things ive had to do to the car.... 1.. all new fluids, but thats a given with the mileage once i hit 100k. the other thing is tires.. but thats my fault and about time for them again lol. the idler pulley went out, and was the first of only 2 actual repairs and it only cost me $19, and a air intake temperature sensor went out costing me $12... wooooo big expenses i know.. lol just goes to show how cheaply this car can be repaired and maintained, i think even if i become a billionaire id still roll around in my grand prix a good bit of time. save my ferraris and stuff for only once in a while.

welcome good to have another fl member im in Ft Myers.

12s are doable and thats still quick enough to surprise most cars on the road.

well my last gtp ran 10.2... the cartuning performance grand prix runs 8's... but thats stripped down... im not lookin to break 9's or 8's just 10's really.. anything less becomes too unstreetable. 10.2 wasnt easy to get but is possible, and the great thing about our performance shift button is you can electronically limit the car to reasonable power for the street, then killer power for the track when you push it. 2 completely different animals at the push of a button. all in all about 15-17k is gonna go into this car over time. it wont be my daily driver when its done. itll be more of a toy at that point.

Yeah, I thought it was 1/8th for a little bit...but I agree with Slowpoke...

Someone needs to respond with an answer, and some pictures....

*taps foot waiting impatiently...*

lol i wish i did have pics, but truth be told i hardly have any pics that i even existed from 2003 to 2006 while i was in the army.. never owned a camera. i do however have a couple witnesses that ive stayed in touch with. and i got my dd214 discharge papers from the military showing that i was in fact in the army at the time. anyone in the tampa area who wants to chill or cruise around sometime is more than welcome to sneak a peak at that but im not posting that on here as that has a lot of private info on it that i wont post online. if anyone here wants to chill sometime i can try to get said witnesses on the phone to verify as well, or you can speak with a woman named kara mills on myspace for those of you myspace users. the person who did the work on my car who knew a lot more about cars than i did is actually diseased. was a good buddy of mine, you can google him and im sure youll find a lot about the murder. joseph barker in colorado springs, co. was a friend in another unit. he also owned a gtp but had only a small amount of work to his as his was a daily driver. i had a 05 chevy cobalt sedan daily driver at the time so i could afford having a less practical toy. i wish i could play mr. smart guy "know it all" that could list off every single mod but honestly im still learning on grand prix's which i am the first to admit to, but i do know whats possible and what ive done before driving the ones ive owned. as my friend is no longer alive i have no way of asking him which parts he was putting on my car, so i now have to go about doing research on it myself to learn more. so if anyone has any suggestions as to how to get the car i now have to that level... im all ears. KARA MILLS (KARA) on Myspace thats a link to kara's profile. shes been around me since 2003 so she knows what ive had and shes rode/driven most of them at some point or another.

Thanks for your service, I served in the military myself. Nobody here would ask you to post pictures of your 214, I'm not sure why you even brought that up though. I'm also sorry to hear about your friend. With all that said, let me make sure I'm getting this right....

So you were in the Army, and this is why you never had a camera. Which is why you never took any pictures or videos of your 10 sec GP. How do you have a 10 sec GP but not 1 picture or video? Even if you didn't have anything to take a pic or vid, somebody else sure the hell did. 10 sec GPs aren't that common, and somebody at some point would have wanted to share your car with somebody else. I'm sorry, (and I'm sure you don't care) but I'm not buying this.

I'm also not buying that you put all that money into your car, and don't have a clue what your money paid for. You don't have to spend a single minute in the shop to know at least the basics of what your set up was. And if you're experienced enough to take your car down the 1/4 in 10 secs, then you're experienced enough to know what you're driving. Do you even know what your horsepower/torque numbers were? How about your trap speeds or 60 fts? Or do you keep tabs on these numbers as well as you keep tabs on your money?

I can only speak for myself, but I don't care enough about your GP to track down some random chick on myspace. I don''t live anywhere near you either, but if I did, I wouldn't meet up with you just so you can have me call your friends so they can vouch for your 10 sec car. This isn't middle school. Either you have proof or you don't. In this case, you don't. He said she said isn't proof.

Take my opinion with a grain of salt, for all I know you could very well be telling the truth. My opinion though, is that you're full of sh*t. And that you're trying to impress the good folks here by being mister big shot.

thank you for your service as well. being in the army wasnt my reason for not having a camera, i simply stated that while i was in i never bothered with pics, all i cared about was speed and the adrenaline rush. and i never said i didnt know at least the basics of my mods, i said i didnt know enough to list off every single small mod that was done to the car.

i know some of the basics of the mods that were done but thats about it. i do know it was a full turbo swap with a T67 instead of using the supercharger, i had baer racing brakes cause i remember talking to a guy at a performance shop about what would be a good set to order for it. i remember ordering the slp exhaust as i liked how it sounded on someone elses gtp. the intercooler for it was being a pain to put on, for some reason it didnt want to fit right so he had to play with it a bit to get it on. i remember that cause he smashed his thumb pretty good fighting with it. a nearby performance shop did the transmission work on it. the only spot we were having trouble with was the front axles, broke the right one twice.

now about the track, i only had the car at the track a few times when i owned it, most of the time was for practicing at test & tune days to get used to the car and see how it did. eventually took it to a race night and had some fun, only did 2 runs before getting beat by a corvette. had fun though. did anyone get videos of the car? i dont know..if they did then they dont know me otherwise i would have the videos. i got out of the army shortly after that and ended up selling the car as i didnt have room for it when i moved. i had a moving truck and a car trailer for one car, my daily driver is the one i had to keep, otherwise i probably would have it to this day. as to what happened to the car after i sold it, i have no idea, some guy from pueblo colorado bought the car. as far as track times, my 60 ft. times averaged around 1.6 to 1.7, and trap speeds were usually around 134 mph or so. as far as keeping tabs on the money, i didnt always know what the part my friend would be telling me i needed was for, hed briefly explain why i needed it and that this or that would break if i didnt get it, and how much it would cost. he never steered me wrong before.

as far as the people to talk to, as i never bothered with pics or vids of anything i did during those days the only proof i have is the people who were around for it. if you dont want to hear from them what is fact, thats fine, personally i dont really care if you believe me or not, nor do i care to impress anyone. i am here simply to learn more so i can get a build back to that kind of setup.

the only reason i even brought up the car is because someone mentioned it would be almost impossible. while its not cheap or easy it is very possible to go much faster than just 10's. i could have very easily tried to make up a list of mods that were all precise abotu every single little detail, as its easy to find those list online from people who have modded their cars to that point. i also could have thrown together some pictures, but whats the point in going through all the trouble of that for something that would be a lie?

so .. i say this again... i never mentioned the car to try and impress anyone, merely to say that it IS possible and that id like to get this car to that point, and to get information from people who know far more than i do as to how to get it to that. so whether you believe me or not is irrelevant, we can argue this all year and it wont get us anywhere.

instead id rather be typing up a list of information and mods for my car, and shopping around for cost, so i know how to budget for this and how long its gonna take me to finish getting my car to where i want it. i easily can list off all the cosmetic stuff i want but i can only list off a few things i want as far as engine mods go. biggest problem is, i dont know what all i need to do to make it so im not constantly breaking half the stuff on the car, or blowing up the engine. so, is there anyone here that can help with that or tell me some things i should look out for and make sure i mod right? or shall we continue arguing about something that doesnt matter to begin with?

thanx.. ill have to give that a look... does anyone know how good zzp's twincharge kit works? with keeping the supercharger and turbocharging.. or is it kind of pointless and better to just stick to one or the other?
