Well let the flaming begin but heres my question:

I have been running my ssm90 kit for 3 months now. Have done some wot runs but nothing too much. No blatant/weird noises at all and it ran and pulled great. But just tonight i started noticing it. Im at some light and some guy in an infinity suv pulls up. We both go at it, and im noticing that my rmp's arent going up smoothly and the car will slow down slightly for a second then keep going again. Its not like its misfiring(which i have experienced before its nothing like that.)

After the race i went wot again to see if it was just something random, but its doing it again and while i was going wot im hearing some pinging or ticking coming from under the hood. Is this freaking knock? I havent heard it before, is it somehow getting worse or is this just something else? My fpr on my pos zzp logs have a tiny leak, dunno if that would do anything. All input is appreciated, my setup is in my sig. Thanks guys.

no scan gauge or anything? Whats the Fuel pressure? Also pop off the vac line from the vac nipple under the snout to the FPR itself and see if gas comes out. Hanging up and pinging=KR forsure

No scan gauge, i know dumbass move on my part. I yanked the vac line, no gas came out. Then i hooked it back up, started the car and im getting about 75psi.

I quickly googled about the smashed spark plugs, and it seems that whenever someone's plugs are smashed the vehicle doesnt run well at all. Well mine runs great so i dont know if they are smashed or not, il check later today when i have more time. Im pretty sure im just knocking but i dont understand why it just started last night, unless its just been getting worse?

my rmp's arent going up smoothly and the car will slow down slightly for a second then keep going again.

This is normally caused by KR. I had a few of those knock retards too, I always blamed it on something else. When I bought the tuner, finally found out that it was KR.

What kind of flow mods would you say would work? i have a 2.5" dp, would getting a 3" really do anything? Well above headers was suggested but dont headers just raise the powerband? I kind of want to avoid that.

But i just dont get how all of the sudden it just starts doing it:th_coocoo:

because you dont have enough mods to be running that ssm90 kit and you blew some pistons apart. which cylinders were the plugs smashed? those are the ones that are all broke.

You get headers because you have higher compression...and flow restriction is the LAST thing you want with boost and high comp...so...most likely you started knocking...something got too hot...and POOF! My car ran pretty good on a chipped piston for about 300 miles until the entire skirt desinigrated. Getting headers and moving the powerband up does nothing but good for these cars since they lack top end and have AWFUL exhaust in the first place.

I'm betting on #3 or #4.

A few years ago, I had a customer that you could actually hear an audible ping when you got on it. It was predetonation, and because we caught it in time, it didn't hurt the motor. But we immediately pulled the plugs, and they were just toasted (as in burned off). New plugs cured MOST of it, but ended up pulling about 4* of timing to make sure it didn't happen again.

You may not have hurt it right now, but if you keep it up you will. The GT pistons are thinner on top, won't hold up to the abuse like a GTP one.

I would very seriously consider some type of scan gauge so that you can constantly keep an eye on what's going on. Those things are probably the best, money you can buy thing that can help you save an engine.

75psi? OMG thats the issue. Please confirm thats the number. If so dont start the car lol

pfff my car has hit 16* of knock im not going to say who's pcm it was

gt pistons are stronger than what everyone makes them to be. Your car is crying for a GOOD street tune ;)

16* is too much, for any car...so there's no pffft to it.
And there's a huge difference between seeing KR on a scanner, and actually hearing something that sounds like gravel chunking around under the hood.
