i thought the 99's had the 5.3s since they were the newer body style. Unless you could get it either way. But anyways i love all the rides

1999 Silverados were available in the old style (commonly called called classic series) and new style.

Impressive vehicles OP. All very impressive.

Yeah, it did have a 5.3, he put an LS1 aluminum block 5.7 346ci engine in there, the same engines that the 98-02 F-body's and 97-04 C5 Corvettes have.

You're from KS?! I saw the LQ4 shortbed for sale on KCSR, did you get rid of it?

I particularly love it. Nice rides.

Quite a varied selection. I like eclectic. Also, can you elaborate on the maroon LQ4-Swapped truck? I always wanted a Lightning, but I'm a GM hardcore...

Actually, the story on that truck is I traded it in for the Corvette. A buddy of mine seen the add on that site as well. The guy I traded with sold the truck. I think some guy in Wichita owns it now. I live is south west Kansas. That's the truck I most regret getting rid of. Funny story how it happened... A week before I traded for the Vette, I was tellin my brother "the only way I'd ever get rid of that truck was if some guy offered me a C5 or newer Corvette for a trade.... And here we are! Lol

GM trucks FTW! A few more mods and it would have been a serious Lightning killer! My plans were heads cam and intake on it yet before I decided to trade it. That would have got me low low 12's for sure and possibly even high 11's!

That swap was really quite easy! An LQ4 swap is a direct fit. No modifications necessary, other than tuning of course lol. VERY good mod for any GM truck! Damn that truck was fun! Full mod list is as follows:

-2007 LQ4 27k miles
-Pacesetter long tube headers w/off road y-pipe
-K&N CAI
-3" cutout, Flowmaster muffler w/turn down
-Yank ss3600 stall
-Corvette servo
-Yukon Dura-Grip posi
-4.56 gears
-28" slicks
-Custom EfiLive tuned by me

The DA was 2700 feet above sea level when I ran the [email protected], and at that time I had a Dacco 3200 stall. I managed a 1.800 60 foot, I think with the Yank 3600 I could have gotten into the 1.7x 60 foot range.

I bought that truck bone stock and did all the modding myself. I had a lot of sentimental value, but seeing that white Corvette... I couldn't resist! A Corvette has always been my dream car!

That's not bad at all. I love the C5 vettes. I wish I had one so I could go do some autocross. It's a damn good looking car.

Yeah, ya'll haven't heard a supercharger whine until you've heard a 3.3L on a V10 at 10-11# of boost! It's got a mean throaty wine! I have a speedo video of a 3rd gear rolling idle and a little in 4th.

That truck moves out...seems to like higher RPMs.

20-100 in one gear? wow.

Single Cab SRT-10s have the 6-spd man with good gearing same as the viper cars do. The Ext cabs tho have a 4-spd hd tranny with really long gears, couple that with added HP and the truck would never notice :D

All I know is, that truck is fun as sh!t! Anyway, he told me last night that the SRT-10 is for sale, I do believe it has somewhere between 35-45k original miles on it. The bad: It has a built tranny but 2nd gear wants to pop out sometimes. It has a rebuilders title but it was due to cosmetic damage. Every body piece (fenders, hood, doors, entire bed), except the cab itself, was replaced with NEW stuff. The guy he bought it from said it was run into some really thick brush/small trees, so no major damage to anything other than cosmetic.
He's asking $20k the way it sits.
