Cars like a gtp.

I want to pick up another car to work on and I'm looking for something under 8k that's similar to a gtp, you know needlessly weak tranny, squeaks, rattles :) But really I'm looking for another car that's somewhat low profile that has a pretty good cost:performance ratio, any suggestions?

Monte Carlo, it's built better then other Wbodies. Moar luxurious, purpose built suspension for 200+ mph Highway runs, moar horsepower/torque, ect ect.....

On another note, a first gen Taurus SHO wouldn't be bad. A Jetta VR6 would be cool too, and IMO, with the right setup, you won't find a better sounding V6. Or maybe a second gen Acura TL, those are nice.

Haha YES!!!

I have a VR6 5-speed in a Passat. Very fun car. Not too hard to work on. I do think the the GTi VR6's are a lot more fun with the 6-speed.

89 - 95 Thunderbird super coupe 5 speed rear wheel drive. Even runs an m90 supercharger with a stock 3.15 pulley like the gtp homever it is air to air factory intercooled

Fiero. Swap in a l67 and say hey to a auto x and drag monster. Relatively low profile if you get a notch instead of a fastback.

5.0 mustang, first (maybe sencond) gen eclipse GSX, if you are lucky, you could get an early 3000GT VR4 for under 8k. Thats not very low profile though.

Hmm I like the idea of the T-bird. God ugly but nice in it's own special way. A SHO would be sweet but its hard to find one around here that isn't made out of rust and more rust.

C5 & C6 Corvettes are the best performance:cost ratio of all. If you are not spending that much, though, then maybe an Altima V6 or early 350Z?

Yeah I have one that I am restoring. I paid 1000.00 for it with a cervini hood ported blower new tires, clutch. They have alot of torque and can look very nice if they are done right because they have really good body lines.
