Deleting the EVAP

I have been thinking about deleting the EVAP on my car while it is apart. I would do this mostly to clean the engine bay up but is there any other advantages of this. Also if you did this how did you go about doing it?

I know for one that I'll be watching this as well as I have considered deleting the EVAP as well and the EGR after seeing the inside of my LIM.

Just unplug everthing and toss it I left the vacuum line from the rear open near the brake resevoir no problems.

Exactly. Remove the codes and trash the plastic crap.....I just decided to block ine off because I was afraid of anything getting in there. I hear it's not needed to block it off though, just remove codes and electronics.

I've thought about this too. You would definitely still need to allow venting of the gas tank, so under the hood is fine?. The other end of the soleniod connects to the TB. You would have to cap that off as well, yes?

dont know if it is related or not but as soon as i did my ic on my car i just left it unhooked and now i smell gas fumes pretty strong in the car...looked for leakes else where...nothing. my guess is, is that it is the evap.

I've heard if you park in a garage, you will start to smell gas after a while.

If the line was unhooked somewhere around the tank, would there be any concern, about fumes pooling and a spark setting it off? When I was a kid, one of my good friends and my little brother were both severely burned in separate gas fires. My brother, the actual flaming liquid (I saw that one:th_shakinghead2:) and my friend, it was ignited fumes that engulfed him. When it comes to gas and potential problems, past experiences have left their mark.
