Im heading to the track this friday, might try 34 or risk a lil and go 32 psi (prob stick with 34 psi)
best 60' for me on street tires was 2.07
My mods are homemae fwi, 180* stat, 25 in thrust glasspacks in place of stock mufflers, manual fan switch.... my only concern is the temps outside are going to hit near 90* tomorrow... when I ran the 9.44. I only had the fwi and it was 77* outside @9:05pm... so hopefully if it cools down some... id like to see 9.35 to 9.40
keep that air intake cool....on the stock iat sprk correction table for the pcm...it starts reducing timing at the 104* mark-2 degrees...then at 122+ it's retarding 4 degrees of timing. and trust me you can easily get to those temps.
when i ran the 9.44, i had the spare, jack, cd case, and laptop bag ( i work for a software company). Think if I removed everything loose, and the spare and jack with my mods that I can hit my goal of 9.35 - 9.40 E.T. tomorrow night?
I have a scan tool (altho it dosent show kr:th_depressedand i can make a few runs to see what intake temps the pcm is reading...any tips on how to "keep it cool"
?
Cool deal ..thanks TDC. Im really looking for consistant time than fastest time.. I like to run in the bracket racing later in the evening... the slower car isnt always a bad thing in bracket racing... ive seen a 14 sec Mini Cooper (btw its a 1/8 mile track) win 3 weeks in a row.... haveing the faster car and playing catch-up is the part that makes the slower cars have a shot in hades and alot of fun too!
no problem man- x2 on the above statement.I would rather have a car that i could bring out and run 13.0 flat any day over one that i could sometimes hit 12.6 lol...that's what racing is all about. CONSISTANCY
Amen to that! You know you've got a consistant car when your dial in #'s are vinyl lol!
