• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

For sale section

I was thinking it would be way easier to look at the for sale section if it were split up into what part of the car the part is for. Examples would be---Engine, suspension ect..... Maybe you could have a vote on the sections to include. I just hate having to sort through 3 pages of crap to find something I need for a specific area of my car. I know people have sales for multiple parts off their car but I think if they post them in the correct sections instead of one post, not only would they sell faster but it would be easier for the buyer to view.

Agree. Would be much easier to find stuff. especially when you Search for something and the search wont find it or the word isn't long enough to find.

Most people operate through the New Posts feed anyway. Pointless organization, increased work for mods... nice sentiment, but not much, if anything, to gain from it.

I guess I see it as if there was nothing to gain from it than why do all the vendors do it. Why wouldn't they just put everything in one category and call it a day? I honestly think it would be easier not harder because right now the for sale section is full of sold stuff and stuff nobody will see because its not in the title of the thread.

4 sections --Engine,Transmission,Suspension,Misc

A vendor is just one guy listing. Here, it is many people listing. 75% of people do for-sale ads wrong now, and you are proposing the complication of forcing them to correctly make and continue to check multiple threads in multiple sub-forums for multiple items, when many guys will sell 10-20 items at a time. On top of that, you're asking mods to ensure the quality of these many additional posts. You'd have to be cross-linking if you wanted to, say, try to sell cradle spaces in the package deal of your intercooler setup. Same for selling hardend 4th gear stuff with a topswap kit.

That is the responsibility of the seller. If they want to sell their stuff, they should work for it. If they don't keep up with their own single thread, they damn well aren't going to keep up with multiple.

I would rather see everything someone has for sale, some people include hard to come by items in their "bulk sales" or other things I may be interested in that I wasn't so much searching for.

Its worked the way it is for how long now? If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

the problem with splitting it into sections is exactly what spade said. people would then have to create multiple threads for selling things when doing a sale of multiple types of items. this is frowned upon by those who run the place.

bio makes a point there are alot of people who post a lot. my complaint is the search. HID, LED, and other small words wont search.... If im looking for something like this I have to then go through every post.

try different terms that relate to it. anything three letters will be taken out of the search. what i like to do is do 'term+(three letter problem child)'

Use Google Site Search or use the main google page to search the site like everyone else. I promise it's painless.

agreed
my opinion of the sections:

powertrain (engine, trans, etc)
interior
exterior
steering and suspension
electronics (audio, aftermarket lights, etc)
misc
