ICM out, now where the heck is the CPS?

I've been having the issue where it just quits running out of the blue. Now it has progressed to the point where it will idle in the garage for like 10 mins and die. Checked for spark after it dies and there is none. So, it seems that most think it is either the ICM or the CPS.

I managed to get the ICM and coils out tonight with just a little bit of cussin. I have looked all over the place and can't seem to find the CPS. My Haynes manual doesn't really say much as far as location goes or have any pics. Can someone help a brother out? Hopefully its not way under the car somewhere, I hate layin underneath there for too long, haha.:th_scratchhead:

It is behind the Harmonic Balancer.. The balancer needs to be pulled to replace it

I was thinkin on the T vin 3.1's (mine is a 1993) that there was no cps by the balancer, but instead it was somewhere on the back of the engine? Seems like I read that somewhere?

Didnt realize you had a 93...But if youre talking about the Crankshaft Position Sensor, it should be somewhere near the Crank pully. I have read about the sensors on the 93's having a tendency to break when trying to remove it. EDIT: Check on the firewall side of the motor just above the oil pan rail, for the Vin T

Thanks Keith. I think I might have found it now after your post. Looks like firewall side of the engine down low towards the front of the engine? Looks like I might have to yank the alternator to get to it. Does that sound right?

Thanks Keith. I'll post a pic after I get it to it so maybe it will help others in the future.

:th_dancingpepper:Just wanted to follow up and let everyone know that the ICM fixed my issue. No need to fool with the CPS right now. Will do that another day if it breaks I guess. Thanks to everyone on the forum for helping.
