What do people not understand about road work zones?

I was workin last week on the LIE doin potholes and some idiot in an audi A8 smashed into the back of my truck. Now usually when we roll out we roll about six trucks deep with arrowboards and we have digital overhead signs that warn people that wee workin, and yet I watched this guy wait til the very last second to go around me and talk on the phone at the same time and slam right into the back of my truck like I wasnt even there, are people just A.blind B. inconsiderate or C just plain stupid?
 


You guys need to request a cruiser to keep the idiots in check... it's the only thing that works out here. They just drive over the cones.
 
Well...most people are just stupid behind the wheel....

Then again, I hate seeing those damn Let em' work, Let em' live signs around road construction.....so I get mad and go fast.

If there are actually people working on the road, I slow way down...but very rarely is anyone actually working/there.

Cruisers only bloat your budget, idiots drive like idiots regardless he would have hit the cruiser, it happens all the time up here in New England. Good thing you aren't hurt.

You cats drive on the shoulder even on 8-lane highways. New England drivers are a whole different kind of scary for me.
 
drive through I-70/I-75 bullsh!t. whoever thought some of those exits were a good idea needs a swift kick in the dick
 
we have idiots that do this....we have probably about a 2 miles stretch where its a construction zone....people do 10-15 over on a daily basis....annoys the hell out of me
There's a baracade with green poles on them in between the road and the workers though.....one day i was drivin and saw this arm stickin out and it scared the **** out of me...not because i was speeding but because there was a person...all i thought was holy **** that was a person....at 55 mph all you think when you see a person on the road is oh ****...then i realized it was a cop with a radar gun
 


I live in a college town in FL so I get the old people who just are fit to drive then I get all of the damn sorostitues/douchbags who don't know how to drive.

And people need to learn how to park, btches be out halfway in the road when parked and don't care.
 
the LIE is like the daytona 500 , lots of jerks out there in a hurry to go nowhere.

not to mention the fools who drive 45 mph in the fast lane, that highways a mess.

i spent 8 years driving it daily, im so glad i don't have to drive on it any more.
 
when we bid a job for the state we are working in we add a troopers pay to the deal and it helps us get the job by offering to pay the troopers wages to sit at our construction zone
 
As a volunteer fireman, you would not believe how may drivers will not give the big safety yellow firetrucks with flashing red lights the right of way.

I had a close call about 10 years ago. As I was getting out of a tanker for trafffic control, some idiot sped along the side of me nearly taking off the drivers door. A nearby sheriffs deputy left the scene, pulled the driver over, and through the book at her.

You cant fix stupid!!
 
So far this winter I think like 13 people have hit highway patrol crusiers on the interstate. The cruisers will have someone pulled over and someone will be driving like an idiot when the roads are slick and they will hit the car.
 


Its nuts man, even the cops arent safe we had a nassau county cop kiled on my road just a month ago he was on a ramp when some knucklehead in a box truck ran him down. Its ridiculous
 
because everybody is in a big fcking hurry to get where they have to go. reality of it is that they really dont get there that much faster. people are always in such a rush. if im driving down a state highway in the middle of nowhere and nobodys behind me i do 55. saves alot of gas. people are in a hurry to get nowhere fast. pisses me off when someones tailgating me when im already speeding. then they get to kiss my ass when i slam on the brakes.
