Why is there still KR?

I am talking about the max engine tq engine upshift table...wich post # was the stock table and what was the aftermarket table?


I think i got ya covered so that should be the last thing i need to know.
 


Just look at post #37, that is the stock table. I have never changed it in any of my tunes. It is even stock in the DHP 1.5 table I have.
 
Just for S&G's, set everything from 4800 on up in 1st 2nd and 3rd to 600. That should cover your WOT shift, and see if it kills the kr. Again, it may not be good on the tranny...but that's a starting point if you want to begin to eliminate TM.

I'm leaving that portion of TM alone until I get one of Trannyman's trannies. :)

Next time we tune I plan on playing with all the TM files to see if we can get rid of the KR.
 
That should get rid of it...I did that when I was trying to go through the process of elimination. My hardest thing to deal with right now is keeping it from going into drivetrain abuse mode since I got my Alky installed. I'm not going to eliminate it any more until I get the new trans put in.
 


yea i've come to the conclusion that lower numbers mean more tq mngmt applied...the reason that i belive this is because if you look at around the 4500-5600 rpm range the numbers are lower there than in the lower rpm ranges....

4500-5600 rpm's are most likely where you are going to compleate a high p/t or wot shift therefore more tq management is being applied....since the highest numbers i am seeing are 1020 i'd set them to there...it wouldnt do anything but minimize tm more...and if it breaks the tranny then it was on it's very very last leg anyway...and you may as well replace it...i dont see in any way that that would happen testing this tm to try to cure the kr issue

Here is the description that PT gives about the table(incase you couldn't read the small letters in the screen shot).

This table specifies the maximum allowable engine torque on an upshift as a function of engine speed.
 
and im talking across the board but since the kr is happining in the higher rpm's at wot across the board really wouldnt be nessary to see if this is the problem...now to make it quicker it would have to be done like i said for sure

So basicly it seems like more tq management is being aplied in the rpm shiftpoint range and less through out the regualr rpm range


acording to the numbers anyway

Well then in reading the description I would assume that the number in each cell is the max torque the engine can create during and up shift. This also doesn't make sense to me because 76 ft/lbs in 3rd gear at 6K seems a little low to me. Either way when I get a chance I am going to set the table to one extreme and then to the other extreme and see what happens. Might have to do this in the totally stock Regal though.

i understand what you are saying but i think the numbers may mean something different in dhp than hpt...because in hpt the highest i can go is 640. no more. so i think it must be rated different...


you can see though that it apears according to the rpm range and the numbers regarding tm...that they are lower where the car would likely be shifting at during a strong pt or even wot shift...that is where the most tm would be...right in this are...and the numbers are lower there...so thats how i came to the conclusion that lower numbers mean more tm is being applied...going to sleep now because of work in 3 hrs...be back tomorrow around 11ish though 11am that is

I agree with you on this. I was just stating that according to the description we are both wrong. I guess we will find out when I get a chance to play with it. But I am also off to bed, tomorrow is my first day back to work after seven days off.

BTW thanks for all the help from everyone who replied to this thread.
 
The lower numbers do indicate TM is being applied. It's the maximum torque allowed during a certain condition. If the PCM senses that more than this amount of torque is present, it will pull timing/fuel...etc to maintain that threshold.

Fortunately the first thing you should do is turn off the injector disable, so it will look other places....and keep in mind the PT only shows a fraction of the tables that are actually in the PCM. There are still many that you can't see.
