• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

AjL227's XP, S2 IC, 2.8" CompG build

Block and heads have been primer'd and painted black. Block is ARP studded, and Cometic MLS .052" gasket'd for the 'qwik' ported heads. Rollmaster double roller timing set has been machined to fit the US 3800 crank keyway, and is installed. Balance shaft has been removed, will be JB welding the oiling for it, once the flex plate and rear cover come off.

If i were you, i wouldnt leave the life blood of your engine up to JB weld.

I'd leave the balance shaft in but leave the gear off of it.

thats what Im debating...
since its all apart, im probably going to get a 440 cam bearing, and rotate it 180 out, and have it pressed in..

Then again i get lazy and could just leave the gear off...

A machine shop is going to have to block off that port...you can't just JB Weld it. The bad part about that is...they have to have the block totally apart since they have to blast out the oil ports with a cleaner.

Engine is assembled, and has been transported back to my garage; where the build first began, and where the chassis awaits...

Looking damn good. Supercharger looks right sitting another 5 feet higher with that Intercooler under it XD.

Really like the new sub-frame too, and having everything clean =]

Now..is that a crack along the edge of the tranny mount???

And like matt asked....what is the green stuff??

Looks good.

Is that ARP assembly lube all over your cam shaft?

You install your new oil pan gasket dry, or did you add RTV on either side of it?

~F~

Yes, that is ARP assembly lube on the XP. The oil pan gasket was RTV'd all the way around, after the windage tray was modified to allow more oil return to the sump.
