Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Can't program this key fob for the life of me.

I bought a compatible key fob, and i've been going through the steps like crazy and have referenced many sites but i just CAN'T get my 97 gt into programming mode. Im in the drivers seat, buckled, mall pgm fuse out, and i turn the key to ACC, back to off, Back to ACC, open and shut the door, but it doesnt give me that beep! any remedies? this is driving me crazy i just want keyless entry so bad.

also when I go from ACC-off-ACC in less than a second, the seat belt indicator chimes in this pattern- 2chimes-pause-3chimes-pause-4chimes. I don't think this is what im supposed to be hearing?

well i bought a "compatible" key fob for my 99GT as well and it didn't program. make sure you are turning the key backwards. i know our cars doesn't label ACC.
it should chime like that though.
just dont hold the buttons for too long. i usually let go right after the second or third chime and it seems to program.

otherwise, keyfob from the dealer.

Sorry, I had a old gf that was following the wrong set of instructions.[that a local school shop teacher gave her]

Wait doesnt 2 chimes mean there is no remote entry system in the bcm? I thought it had to be 3 chimes or more.

I know this thread is pretty old but for future reference i just had to do this and the same procedure as posted in this thread is what i tried and got know where so i skipped opening the DS door after going from acc off acc and got my chime and programed successfully just a little FYI!:th_thumbsup-wink:

hell i got a LOT of chimes. but the trick was to let off the buttons after i think it was 6 or 7, something like that. took me a few times to get it programmed.

I just skipped opeing the ds door and got 4 chimes i think and then held the 2 buttons for the 14 secs got a few more chimes and done:th_thumbsup-wink:

I have rpo code auo so I believe I have keyless so I oredered new fobs I want to know if my chime pattern is bad or good

Dont bash me for saying this have you tried the instructions on Free Keyless Remote Fob Entry programming instructions, procedures for all automotive vehicles they worked for me.
