Destroys cars
Ok I have had problems with my passenger side airbag not turning on. So I call the dealership the other day to see if there is a sensor that can be replaced to make it work.
They tell me there is no sensor its a module. There is one for heated and standard seats.

So I say ok how much are they going to cost me both are over $700. Im like wtf u gota be kidding me $700 fin bucks. So I ask him about a key fob because mine is broke he says they are $115. REALLY!! I asked him if it was made of gold or something. I know they are cheap on ebay just wanted to see how much more expencive they are. Then i ask about a oil drain plug. By now im thinking its going to cost like $20. No they are $3 bs. So

Now I have to figure out if it really is the module or something else. And if it is need to find a good used one lol

That's a stealership for ya

I think they wanted $600 for new stock headlights and turn signals for my car.

Answer is yes.

now go to a BMW dealer and ask for a battery for any of their modern cars.

Ensure you have someone there to catch you when you faint.

$300-350

Or dare i say wiper blades for a land rover. $80

Or try flex hoses for doges.... caravan flex hoses can be up to $600 from what i've seen and the 2500/3500 lines can cost over a grand.

yes.

look at their lineup of cars. then look at their lineup of duplicate cars under a different name.
This.

If only there was a thank button i might hit it a few times

good ol' gm badge engineering, ah we have completed the chevy cobalt. hey pontiac still needs a small car, give me the glue and the arrow head im going in, ten seconds later the G5 is born. just like the cruze and the "new" small buick

wish they had never shut down pontiac. all this innovation they are doing they coulda really done some good with pontiac.
saturn, hummer, sure who needs those? but buick, chevrolet, cadillac, and pontiac had a purpose for the most part. Pontiac for style and performance of course!

oh well.. :( and whoever thought 200 degree metal wouldn't melt plastic was an idiot.

when i worked for gm the parts were sold for a 50 percent increase over what they bought them for and we were one of the cheapest dealers in town.. the service dept got a kick of it too... i know they are over priced but there overhead is extreamly high... a tech 2 is around 2,500 to program some of the newer keyfobs. the tire balancer we had cost 15,000. we argued that a little decrease would be a big increase in bussiness but we were jsut dirt ball mechanics so what did we know.

Yeh its kinda funny a peace of plastic from china is $115 but a bolt is $3 its just stupid oh well
wish i made that kind of money hmm maby if i was in porn lol

I am not sure what the problem is here. Dealerships have been the same since the beginning of time. Factory parts cost more than aftermarket. That is why the aftermarket exists. This is why parts get discontinued after the car is so old.
As far as GM rebadging. They have always done this. All manufactures do this to cut cost. As a major Pontiac fan, I think dropping pontiac was a mistake. But GM said it has not made a profit in years. I hope the new focus in the Buick, and Chevrolet will bring some affordable performance back to the market.

Check the price of a turnsignal switch for an 00-05 impala, around 600 bucks...the worst part is they all fail prematuraly not letting you change from highs to lows and vice versa and even cutting out the headlamp system completely.

Going to the junkyard is useless, they are all sold out as they get them or if you do get one they do the exact same thing a few months later...They need to force a recall for this one.

If the NHTSB sees it as a safety issue they will which is what sudden loss of lights at night could be considered, look at all the 97-03 they recalled for the possibility of an engine fire from the oil leak, or the toyota vans they recalled going back to 98 for spare tire cables.

Just more people have to report it, everyone I know of with an impala around ehre has that problem too.
