Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

spark plugs

get headers.

coppers last maybe 10 000 miles though.

They're apparently not good enough for the DIS system.

Gonna put this one to the test pretty soon. I've got 9k on my new engine, and the plugs were also new. When the weather breaks here shortly, I'll be pulling the plugs to check.

never tried, but i bet they'd run over 10k. i usually just changed mine every few oil changes just to be safe. i never let them run long enough to get misfires.

AC Declo Iridiums. Burn hot enough for what you're doing and are correct to the vehicle. Will run better then putting autolites in them. Autolites are OEM to Ford not GM, don't use them. They are a waste of money, if you're going to do it, do it doi it right. I get my information from a guy who has been a mechanic for 33+ years and has college's begging him to teach there automotive courses.

Maybe he needs to be educated in the 3800 platform since Autolite plugs are PROVEN to get things done on these cars.

I run AL103R's in mine. Gap 'em at .055".

I haven't changed my AL 104's in a year or so. I've put over 10k on them too. No problems. I plan to change them next oil change though.

So I had some free time this afternoon after work, pulled my plugs and checked them.
They've got right at 10k on them, all colors were good, so I know I'm running about the right afr.
Plugs were gapped at .055 when the motor was put in, and I measured all of them, the smallest gap was .058, and the biggest one was at .060. Re-gapped them, and put them in to see what they look like after the next oil change.

I don't know where this autolite crap is coming from. everyone i know around here runs AC Delco Iridiums. Everyone I've sold plugs to for these cars gets AC Delco Iridiums, they won't put those useless pieces of crap in there car. You want the best opinion on plugs go talk to a mechanic, a circle track racer, or drag racer(I mean real cars not ricers). Seriously, do it right and don't waste your money on autolites. That's basically putting 6 turds into your cylinder heads.

Because it was worth its weight in air.

Autolite's are proven...this is like the 2nd post you have flaming them...your dealing with old technology and Autolite's are PROVEN in these cars...maybe I should use a hotter, useless factory plug like a ACDelco in a modded car that NEEDS a colder range plug.

Oh and yet AC Delco makes colder burning plugs as well. I just know taking the Ford product out of my GM car and putting GM plugs back in it gave it better performance all around.

Probably because your car is running a stock sized pulley...and you want to get away with the hottest range plug you can run. SO since you have a 3.8"...ACD's are fine.

i run autolites in my gtp and acdelco in my caddies, and i did have the iridium plugs in my first gtp(26 bucks a plug) and the cheap plugs did just fine, i ran them in silvermistchick's gtp and felt better throttle response. copper ftmfw
