I just put in a new CTS cooling sensor, right by my thermostat.....and now when i start it the the car flys to about 4000 RPMs, which is not good..i don't get how changing out that sensor would mess with the injection system, and how do i fix this problem?

Sounds like you may have something stuck in the throttle, or the MAF is bad, or the IAC. But yeah, something isn't right. It shouldn't do that.

Well yeah i know....i don't know for sure, but i read that if you don't handle the CTS sensor, it will mess up you fuel injection system.....and i tried to relieve the fuel pressure and nothin, so....hmmm.....the throttles fine, it's port injection...

No, the Service Engine Soon light>>?.... i'm guessing....no light, says everything's good....i don't get it...i'll go through everything tomorrow and let you guys know the news.....i'm pretty sure it doesn't come on though.....i'll keep on going through and through tomorrow, i've had to work tonight....sooo.....later

Sounds about right to me...seems an ses light would eventually come on though.

Yeah i think it has to do with my fuel injection system though....i've checked the sensors.....the IAC is fine, and the MAF sensor seems alright from what i've seen....i'm no mechanic or professional, but what all should i look for to see if they're bad?

Hello

4000 rpm!! Thats lots of air going into the engine..
The first thing that I would check is the Throttle body and the cable going to it.. Remove every hose and stuff to check whitch angle the throttle have!
Can it be that some of the cable´s (Accelerator or cruise) is in wrong position?
Remove all the cable´s and try to push the throttle to bottom..

The IAC: There is some way the you could do to order the IAC to close, but I´m not sure how.. In camaro you did bridge some wires or something like that.

The thing is that the engine need´s air to rev up to 4000 rpm , either you got a airleak some where or the throttle is open..

The fuel system cant give the engine AIR just fuel so if the CTS would mess upp something you would notice it by VERY hard going engine and LOTS of black smoke.. So if the car dosent make any of this symptoms and works fine just that the engine revs, something givs the engine AIR!!!

Good luck

Best regards
Acke
