Hifonics Amp or something else?

while back i made a thread about how to i would hook up a third amp but i believe im going to scratch that plan and just get one class d amp and do it right. Im looking for something that will do ~800rms at 2ohms for around $200. i came across to hifonics amps that fit that but ive not heard a whole lot about which of their amp lines is the better one. ive heard their brutus line is decent but nothing about their new amp line. here is the 2 i was debating between. I also open to other suggestions that fit the criteria i listed if you know of something good.

Hifonics Brutus BRZ1200.1D, BRZ 1200.1D Class D Car Amplifier/Amp

Hifonics HFi1000D (HFi 1000D) Class D Monoblock Car Amplifier/Amp

Go to crutchfieled and loom up Bazooka amps. There's one on there for 250 with free shipping and it's got some pretty impressive specs on it. I got it myself but i'm waiting till I'm done with my new boxes to hook it up

I have the 06 model bxi1606D and i love it. I am running it at 2 ohms now and its putting out 800 rms, and it gets pretty loud with two 12's. The only thing i dont like about it is that the casing is metal, and i had the car on while i was doing some work on it and it shorted out my subwoofer out leads because i accidentaly touched the casing. If you always work with it with the car off and battery unplugged its fine though. I would reccomend it.

ill probably go with the brutus over the other one if i go with hifonics. ive done some looking around about it and it does rated power as it was bench tested. the test was done at 1ohm but im sure it will put out rated power at 2ohm. they only thing said about it was it was dirty power. Before it reached its maximum rms at 1ohm it started clipping. im not running that much power so i should be good with it not clipping.

msrp on the brutus goes for $650

im still open to suggestion if anyone has them though.

doesnt look bad but i couldnt find any info about it through searching. Only thing i could find is info from someone named "Rodek" who appeared across multiple forums who seemed to have a boner for that amp. :P There seems to be no other information about this amp that i could find from other people on other forums. Rodek fellow also tried selling it for $160 awhile back with no one buying it. i would think if this amp was great it would have been snatched up. Id prefer to buy something that i know has been widely used or has plenty of information around it.

i would pass on that bazooka IN A HEART BEAT!!
not really into the "newer" hifonics stuff either..... look into a mb quart discus amp. those are pretty solid..
and remember YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!!!!!!!!!! no way around it really.. LOL

Funny you would say this. Don't you know that Hifonics and MB Quart are owned and run by the SAME COMPANY? Maxxsonics has been building great stuff for years. Even their "budget" Crunch amps are excellent. I used to compete and was sponsored by Hifonics back in the late 90's. Then for about 4 years was a multi-line dealer with access to just about any equipment from any company. Hifonics is still one of the greatest amps for the price. I wouldn't hesitate to buy one at all.

^^ i know there from the same build house/name. from what i hear on the forums, discus is the better way to go..

the "back in the days" was dammn good stuff from hifonics!! there NOT made like that any more... all boils down to, YOU GET WHAT YOU PAR FOR!!

ive been happy with my mmats amps for over 6yrs... for me, i dont need to look else where as of now!! :->

I've always been a big fan of Soundstream Amps, but their high end stuff can be pretty pricey.
