First REAL car 99 GTP

Thats what I always do is get the wire harness that plugs in. But there is a second plug on the back that I'm about 99% sure is for the BOSE. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
 


this weekend or tomarrow "father is off" were going to fix the foglamps, steamclean the engine to make it even nicer! and fix a crack in the front lower skirt "no biggy i just want it fixed". Hay just wondering did or has anybody tried to tint there windows then self? it is pissing me off i cant do it!!! GOOD NEWS: My dad got a call from the dealer i bought it from and "when i bought it it only had the valet key :{ now i got 3 remotes 3 keys and the pontiac owners manual :D I guess some people are nice because the previous owner went out of his way to dilever the goods to the dealer for me :D OO YEAH!

The wiring kit should come with 2 sets of plugs. Mine did. One for power, ground,etc and the other to run the speakers.

Go on Ebay and order the pre cut tints. So much easier nad for only about 30 bucks. Used them on my truck and they went on with no prob. My GTP's next.

You can tint them yourself but it would be better to have someone at a tint shop do it. DIY tint never lasts and usually turns purple and bubbles. Pay $200 and have it done right by someone who knows what they are doing. That way if there are any problems you can go back to them.

Unless you are buying some really cheap tint it shouldn't turn purple. The only thing that will turn tint purple is using window cleaner with amonia in it. I've had my tint on my GP since 98 and it hasn't turned purple yet. Just stay away from the amonia based window cleaner. As for the air bubbles, just take your time putting it on. Start at the center of the windows and work your way out. And don't use the rear window defrost. It heats up the addhesive and causes it not to stick anymore giving you bubbles.
 
not now "money is tight for a while" i will have a shop tint my rear and side windows. Hay quick Q what does the 99 speedo go up to?? i saw 1 on car domain and it went up to like 160?? mine is like 110 i think! whats the deal? just a dumb q but wondering.
 
i think i just solved my own problem the car with the 200 or 180 mph speedo is a 2001 is that a different setup in 01 then my 99? haha dumb q but wondering.

All the ones I've seen have been 115. It's got 110 and then the mark right past it. Don't know where he got the 160 from. Unless he had it custom made. Then you'd have to have it calibrated to match the new speedo. Alot of trouble and money if you ask me. I'd rather keep what mine will do to others imagination.
 


lol nope thanks lol i was like WTF wow thats neat haha. anyways yeah i discovered a 34 dollar shipped precuts for entire car! 5% limo rear 1 peice and sides "rear" and the drivers and passenger window and windshield i can get 20% tint. all for only 34 bucks! Ill get it later on down the road lol. money tight currently.

I know the feeling. Been working on mine for a while and no where near where I want to be. Forgot to tell ya that I'm on cardomain also under the same username if ya want to check the ride out. Just don't rag me to hard. She's a slow work in progress and just got back on the road a little while ago from a 2 year sit. Man that sucked. Well, gotta jump off here for the night, gotta be at work early. anyways, where you from? Athens, GA here.

You never know man, being in the military I might end up closer. I couldn't tell ya when the last time I hit up a show. With work, wife and kids, makes a little hard. But, I''ll get back into it again. Just want to get her straightened out and redo some of the cometic mods that were done a while back. Chacked ya out on cardomain. Looks good. :th_thumb-up:

A quick Q for you... What is this performance shift thing? I was check my car out 1 day before work and i hit this button on my shift and it siad performance shift on the display "the middle of the dash thing haha" whats this for? Thanks for the help guys! Also does it make ur acceleration faster and stuff or?
