07 GP speedo needles in my 97

RamairGTP2

They call me TriPod
K guys here is a shot of the cluster after I got done putting the new needles on. I think they look great but I believe my speedo is off a little bit due to me moving the pin on the gauge itself as I removed the old needle. Anyways I'll post up some night shots tomorrow. Let me know what you all think

Looks cool but move the top picture so that its directly over the bottom one...cant see the whole thing...or all of the words

Is that any better?? I got the needles from a trashed 07 GP at the junkyard so I snatched them up. There was another 05 GP sitting next to this one but it was burnt to a crisp. I'm keeping my eyes peeled for another set of needles. I want to change out the tach needle for a speedo needle so they'll both be the exact same length. I did have to trim a little bit off the speedo needle to make it fit under the plastic gauge lense. All in all it worked out great.

thats worse lol

I was at the JY the other day getting leather out of an 06 GT. There was also an orange comp g that was burnt...mad me sad lol.

Why didn't you just put another tach needle, so they're both shorter. I think that'd look better anyway.

Well I didn't put another tach needle or speedo needle because there wasn't any other GP's in the yard except for 97-03. Once I come across another gauge cluster from 04 and up on the GP I'm going snatch up the needles and see if I like the shorter or longer ones for the tach/speedo. For now I'm just going to live with it.

Was that the only modification to make them work? Just pull the old ones off and replace with these? Upcomming project this spring hehe:D

Still waiting for a night time shot tho :th_thumbsup-wink:

yeah basically just the needle length was trimmed slightly. Then I used some 1000 grit sand paper I had laying around to (round out ) the edge of the needle to match the other ones. Here's a quick night shot. Let me know what you think.

Shaweeeeeeeeeeeeet

I never liked the 97-03 needles.

Can't decide which would look better.

Perhaps I'd need to see a picture with the speedo reading something other than zero.

not sure how i feel about them. i do like them at night!

i also agree with the shorter needle comment. i think once u have a shorter one for the speedo. it'll look mucho better!

Ok Guys here is your moving needles lol. Keep in mind I was trying to drive and keep an eye on the road at the same time.
