• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

GM 85mm LS6 LQ4 MAF Mass Airflow kit

You have a way to tune it?

Do you have the mods really needed to support an aftermarket MAF? Not really.

Stick with the stock one.

yeah i am Sponsored by a local performance shop S&R Performance

they can tune it

what mods would i need for it?

if you're not outflowing your stock MAF/TB then its not really worth it.

If you were doing a Gen V swap then yeah, it'd probably be worth it.

I wouldn't go to an external MAF or bigger throttle body until your cammed or intercooled...your at no mod level to benefit from it

And more expensive.

It's a neat piece, but for under $200 you can have a good N* setup from someone's demod.
You're still going to have to tune no matter what you do if you're going to put a different TB/MAF combo on, so do what your budget calls for.

It's a bolt on piece...

And you pay for what you get, ease of installation, quality product...uses factory gaskets, sensors, etc. Your not chasing vacuum leaks on it like you would be on N* or LS1 setups that use adapters and RTV or, like Jarred had...connection issues with sensors on the N* that caused his car to not even run.

i personally liked the N* and LQ4 maf, the throttle response was better, and the car idled very quietly on a cold start instead of sounding like a vacuum cleaner like my stock tb and cone filter set up. plus you're not gonna outflow the maf like you would a stock one

Actually, ZZP's billet TB is now only available without a MAF hole. It also states on the page that "You would have to install an aftermarket external MAF sensor." The pics on their page would technically not be what you would receive.

Budget? :th_laugh-pointup: I never buy cheap lol

He hath no budget or economical prowess. Money is no object to the Spartan GL. If you have no budget why are you building a Grand Prix?

Good thing you changed your username too, I always thought it read spartangl like "spart-angel"

Makes sense now...

What issues did he have? I think i'm having similar issues.

I've tried two N* Maf's. My old one and a new one.

I've looked over the adapter harness. I replaced the plug going to the maf from the stock harness.

My aeroforce won't read it and HP Tuners doesn't either.

Ugh...
