Well...if the electrode is gone on the plug...kinda a waste of time to do a compression test...since we already know he needs a new bottom end.

nick when i chipped piston/broke plug. i drove for awhile on it. would prob still be on that same motor if i wasnt lazy and would have replaced cat... i didnt feel a power loss after it happened and had no smoke coming out of exhaust.... got into it a lil too hard one day passing someone and finished it off.

LOL, That guy on the Canadian linked forum Turbo Gp was calling us idiots when a chipped piston was brought up..... Opps. The Motors toast, Learn from your mistake and put in a used long block

then this dude... wonder what he was LOL'ing at?
people in this thread make me LOL,

the Flashing light is not always a misfire its a "catalyst damaging condition" So yes it COULD be a misfire, there are other things that will cause the Flashing MIL.

i melted (not smashed) a plug and dont have any piston damage....imagine that

there is a very good chance his engine is fine.

I heard so many differente version lol. Do u think guys it's a good idea to put a little magnet into the spark plug hole ?

you need to use a hosting site like photobucket or imageshack then post the code.
more than likely the piece of piston is in the oil pan or exited through the exhaust.

still... a 3.4 pulley is too much for stock exhaust manifolds. if u drove it in teh winter like that... all of your pistons would prob be in the oil pan.

I dont rhink rats fight

I would say your engine is toast. Does not look like the plug melted, something was bashing around in the cylinder. More than likely a chunk of piston.
