Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

well as you people know i now own/drive a 95 achieva coupe..well lets just say this car wasnt designed to perform, least come'n from a SC 3.8 to a 3.1 v6 :(..also the handleing sucks,ik ik its family car.Its not gonna be sports car buut damn if my freakin bravada i had didnt handle better. So after the long bs crap here is the question..

Will putting some 95-99 cavalier Z24 wheels with p205/55/r 16s and some strut bars from a cavalier(after some slight mods) help my cause?? or should i just suck it up that i own a grandpa car?..i have the flame suit on but go easy..just lookin for info here,as i figured lower profile, wider tires/strut bars might equal a slighly less body roll, soft feel in the corners

dont waste your money on it.
honestly..i was gonna do the Z24 wheels anyway for looks cuz ik were some are and i hate the stock 14" wheels/hubcaps..so seeing as imma be driven this thing for a while, might as well try at least to make it less like an old man car..the idea that it might handle better just occured to me really and i already own the strut bars so only expendature would be the wheels as i have the tires back home in ny

i would just do the rims and that be it. its not like u couldn't sell them later on. the wider tire should help just enough for what it is.

well i still gotta go get the tires so this would be a spring thing anyway but thank you matt(boostin98)..thats the kinda input i was lookin for lol

My sister has one of those mouse mobiles. Sad part is my girlfriends Civic has more interior room than the Achieva.

I'd save the money and buy a new pair of shoes to walk to work before I'd ... I guess I'm biased, my little sister can murder and maime any car.

The Achieve is the Oldmobile N-Body kin to the Grand Am. I still have my '94 Grand Am (3100 v6, 200K+ miles on it). Not super fast, but it holds it's own. I just put a K&N drop in air filter in it almost the day I bought it and it's been a reliable ride for me (and I drive the crap out of it HARD). I just recently swapped the coils with L67 coils from a 3800 SC car. Gave a little better throttle response, nothing big.

You may wanna check some Grand Am forums and see what they are doing, but I agree with most peeps here, don't waste any money in it. Keep it maintained, it should be a reliable dialy driver. But, I don't think it's worth putting any $$$ into when comparing to a 3.8.

yeah im not gonna mod the motor at all, thats staying stock as is..i see what you guys are sayin but honestly..just in terms of ascetics i think the wheels will help with the "oldman" look alot of the car,had boostin98(matt) do me up a quick render of what it might look like and i like it alot..so thats gonna be the only real mod.this car usnt gettin the same things id if done to my gtp if it had cooperated :/

Aftermarket filter isn't going to void anything...if something breaks they have to prove your aftermarket part caused the problem...and a if a cone filter breaks something...then you've had issues to begin with. I'd get a big one from Autozone...they are like 40 bucks...better MPG's too...and I noticed a difference when I put one on a 3300 Olds. Not much...but it was there.

hmm you have a valid point there..since when has increased air flow gonna hurt the motor,i may have to hit up the parts store in hanover and pick me up a filter.hell it might even give my stock exhaust a better tone,ik the cai i put on my old Z24 gave its stock exhaust a decent tone, till it rotted off :th_mischievious: then it was fart cannon time :th_biggrin2:
