Red Lights

I've come to accept that people aren't going to stop for red lights (yellow means speed up), and I habitually check to make sure people have stopped before I enter the intersection when the light turns green.

Last night, I was stopped at a red light at an intersection of two three-lane roads. My light turned green, and when I checked the other road the cars were all stopped at the light, so I started going. As I was in the middle of the intersection, even with the car next to me (neither of us accelerated very quickly), a car flew through the red light and into the intersection.

He passed directly in front of my car, close enough that I could see that the driver was smirking directly at us. Based on the look, I actually think he might have seen us and calculated that he could get through the intersection in front of us.

I do the same, always check to see if someone is coming. Last night I was approaching an intersection where the light was already green so I didn't really check... Luckily, I was turning left and no sooner than I completed my turn this guy flew right by me... I didn't know where the hell he came from, I figured that the other cars that were stopped going in his direction would have been a clue that the light was red... WTF are people thinking, OR are they???

I know which intersections around here to stop longer at. There's a couple on my way to school every day that I guarantee someone will run the red every time.

this is how my moms car was written off a number of years ago... she slowly creeps forward on a green and some idiot who was late for a party flys through the red light at 50 in a 35.... Good times.

I do the same as warhellride here, i even take it as far as not going out in front of cars unless the wheels are turning. I never trust turn signals.

My rule of thumb: NEVER LET YOUR GAURD DOWN!!!!!
I have been in the same scenario many times.
When I sit at a light, I always watch the traffic in the other lanes, that way I can be prepared to go or not go.

I trust no one driving. My biggest pet peeve is people that do not use their turn signals, second is people that drive for months with a headlight out.

Yea i know what you guys mean. Where im from, people always wrap around reds. As they approach the intersection, they are wanting to take a right turn, my light goes green and they wrap around without stopping right in front of me. Everytime i drive i see it at least once its pathetic. I was driving with my dad to work one morning and our light goes green and were almost half way through the intersection and this guy in this bmw comes racing through and cuts right in front of us, wtf seriously just wait.

And yea thats exactly what i do all the time too

What about people who stop at a flashing yellow right in front of you? I almost mowed someone down tonight because of that.

Flashing yellow means yield, there shouldnt be 4 flashing yellows at an intersection. One set should be flashing red.

Theres areas here where theres fourway yellows, And by law if another car is approaching a 4 way yellow intersection you are to stop and proceded as if theres a stop sign. If theres no one there then yeah keep cruising

**** cops just think they can throw there Flashers on and Run any god damn light they please.

Then After the intersection turn em off and pull into the local Donut joint.:th_shakinghead1:

"On a stop light green means go and yellow means slow down, but on a banana it's just the opposite. Green means 'hold on,' yellow means 'go ahead,' and red means, 'where the **** did you get that banana at?'"

Exactlty as he said...one set should be yellow and one red...both flashing. The yellow is caution and the red acts a stop sign. I HATE when people stop at yellow flashing lights.
