In stock form a 2008 Pontiac Montana has just as much HP as your S/C 3800 series II engine, the LZ9 3900 is also 240 HP.
Sunshine is still open? I thought it was closing so I have not been there in years.ill run ya at sunshine next month if ya want bro
Nope stock single van exhaust. It dose have the GP 3" downpipe with highflow cat. Dual tips would take away from my stock look. Even the place I had the exhaust work done tried to talk me into a louder muffler. Said nope. I want it dead quiet. All I want to here is the blower whine!that's what i ment , if it had two mufflers , my bad. :th_thumbsup-wink:
This is just stage one. Later I will go back and do more. I was just on a major time crunch to get it done. But now that I know it works. I can go back and do more stuff to it. And yes it was the WHOLE front sub frame from the GP. Disconnect the struts from the spindles and undo the four bolts that hold the sub frame in. And drop it all out. Think of it as a GP but with a van body. Got to love GM's interchangeability!Awesome setup man. Things I would do to that thing...is for sure get rid of the engine cover and the hood liner...keepin' those temps down...also, shoulda ported that blower while you had it out...I figure if you can do a motor/trans swap you can do a DIY blower porting and hog out that front manifold...its free...and every little bit helps ya know? As for the cradle...humor me a bit...so everything is the same underneath? I never looked into a Montana so that's why I'm asking...you used the Montana or GP cradle/axles? Factory or custom poly mounts?
My point exactly. And they don't make anything performance wise for the vans. I was trying to find a aftermarket cold air intake so I have a better air box design/more room. But NOTHING is out there for it. I think the only reason I have the high flow air filter is because it's the same as a GP. lol. But if they make parts to get a GP doing 8.xx in the 1/4. I can do the same with this setup. Although I only want to do a modest high 12. lol.Montanas in the latter years, SV6, proved to be a POS. Besides, theres no aftermarket for the 3900 right? This van can be modded! Looks like it already has a smaller pulley. Man Van indeed!
Yup still open. I haven't been there in awhile myself. I always like the 1/4 mile tracks. If I am going to wait in line to make a run. I might as well do it at a track were I can have a few seconds more of fun.Sunshine is still open? I thought it was closing so I have not been there in years.
I've actually thought about doing this. I even saw a boost activated one that I kinda liked. I would have to find another stock switch though. I used the TCS(which this van didn't have) switch for my Performance shift. lol.I know you probably won't do this but a cutout valve in your exhaust would be killer. That way you could really get their attention if you wanted to play.![]()

I could just pop in a switch. But for some reason I am picky about it. I like to hide the things in plain sight so people won't see it. There is room for a bunch of switches under the radio and on the roof center console. But in order to get the ones under the radio I would have to get a switch panel out of an export model. Which is going to be really hard to do. But would like to do it this way. Or get the panel on the roof that had power sliding doors and use those buttons. for what I need them for. I'll have to get pictures and show you what i am talking about.Just find a generic oem style switch, they have them everywhere. You just need a spot for it to go.
I am probably going to do it. I know the GP exhaust is good up to 300hp. But I have no idea what I am losing with the van exhaust. So I would like to get a cut out and see. Plus it would be funny on peoples face when you are at a red light and open it up. lol.boost activated cutout on a switch to keep it closed would be boss. i always wanted to put one on my car.
I really want to take it to the dealer and complain about a loud whine when giving it gas. lol. But don't want to pay the $90hr for them to look at it for a joke. I will probably just take it in for an oil change and see what happens. But when it dose go into a shop, all the techs swarm around it. They did that at the exhaust shop when I did the exhaust. And at Goodyear when I had some flushes and stuff done. Then the boss comes over to see why nobody is working and starts laughing. lol.i wanna see the look on a pontiac dealer mechanic as the hood opens![]()

it would still be staying closed at a stop light unless you have figured out how to produce boost when youre not moving.

No, people would have been like "Man that van is crap, do you hear that miss? NEED TO GET ENGINE WORK DONE, PAL!..... O Jeebus, where did he go?"He should've cammed that motor, that would have been sick to hear an XP cam looping under the hood of a van, so many people would be like WTF
