well i decided to put a cold cai on my gtp sunday, and untill i did that i was unaware that the pcm was in the stock air box.... well today its rainin like crazy and i'm alittle worried to drive it. so if the pcm gets wet is it gonna hurt it ? or im worried for nothin? it does sound awsome with the new intake...:th_thumbsup-wink:

Your worried for nothing...
My PCM is just sitting there, some zip tie it down.. i didnt.. havent had a problem.

unless you decided to slide the computer down so it is dangling from it wires or laid it on the exhaust manifold your good. I just zip tied mine down on a metal plate that was right below the stock intake. no problems here. I've heard of other people doing that for a few years with no issues.

well i used the foam padding from the stock box to sort of cusion it and zip tied it to the coolant botttle, so its not gonna go anywhere was just kinda worried bout water getting on it... thanks for the replies, i feel much better now!

unless you go driving underwater there isn't going to be water getting to it, but if you're really worried about it throw a plastic bag around it.

I made a sleeve for mine out of plexi and used the foam to sandwich it in. I was bored.

As mentioned, if its not moving around or gettin hot you'll be fine.

I wouldnt do that, The pcms get rater hot. Better to leave it ventalated. Mines been just laying there for 5 years with no issue. It doesnt ever get wet, even in 4 foot of snow lol. Hell I even spilled a chit load of coolent on it once when my T fill leaked for the I/C. I swear the car ran better after that lol!
