Got walked by a GTP...

So not banned.
On my way home from work tonight in the GT, and a black GTP coupe came up on me pretty quick. I looked over and he had his window down, rolled down mine, and he asked me if I wanted to run....:th_nervous: I told him is was basically a stock non pi 2v, with an exhaust, he said it's cool lets just roll for fun. My GT just has an SLP LM1 catback, and a BBK cai. Anyway, knowing that I was about to get walked, I waited for the beeps, on the third we went. He didn't waste anytime in putting about 7-8 lengths on me from 40-95'ish. He happened to be taking the same exit I was taking to get home, and when i saw him pull into the loaf and jug I followed behind him to check out his car. Turns out to be a pretty cool guy, about my age (24). His mods were, he said, "pulley, supporting mods, exhaust, tuned". Anyway I told him about this site, he said he would look into joining up here. Just thought I would share, and if you guys see I new member with a black GTP coup from Memphis then you know I sent him.


EDIT: Just for reference, my 96 GT is an auto as well.
 


Nice little story, very different hearing about someone who's actually cool, not a total dick about racing (everyone I've ever talked to after racing)

I'm working on it, funds in this house move slow. Well, I take that back. They come in slow, but leave pretty fast. I recently sold my 03 GT with plans to put the money towards finally buying a GTP. Then I left my wife talk me into using some of it to pay a big chunk of her SUV off. Stupid wife.

Haha yeah I know how that goes, I want to intercool mine extremely bad, more so to protect then engine than anything, and looking back at what all money has gone out to random ****, I could have paid for 2 full sets...

GL on getting a GTP...Make it a 4door, so people look even more confused when you're faster than them.

I didn't even mention the Cobra to the guy, he seemed pretty impressed/happy with his car. And I would be too if I had a GTP. I thought it would have been a dick move to be like, yeah well I got a Cobra. Not that it's super impressive or anything, but you understand what I'm saying.
 
Maybe here in the near future you can find him again in a DIFFERENT GP and work his ass. Then talk about.

Yeah I know what you mean. Maybe you will see him again with the Cobra or like shawn said in your gtp whenever you get one .

i respect that you didnt..your cobras not even on the same level as a bolt on GTP so it would comparing apples/oranges anyway..good death :th_thumbsup-wink:
 


Or a Whipple...there's a guy at my local spot that has a Whippled Cobra. He said he was putting down 569 RWHP. He doesn't even race he'll beat everything so bad, and plus he said he doesn't get traction till 70 so that'd be really hard trying to race.

We have one too.. it made 570, and the only thing it has beat was a stock c6 vette, with his buddy who has never drove it driving.

Oh no, it's a mustang gt. If it was a GTP though, your right, I would just be looking into a top swap. Non PI 2v = 96-98 Mustang GT's with extreamly restrictive heads. PI (performance improved) heads where used on the 99-04 Mustang GT's. Either way, they are both slow as ****.
