Any ideas on a ticking sound?

Hello, Well I have a ticking sound coming from my GTP and its driving me nuts not knowing what it is! The car runs and drives perfect, plenty of power, shifts fine ect. It only makes the ticking sound between 2-3 thousand rpms in forward gears. But heres the catch, when im in park or neutral it wont make the sound? Now i had a similar sound in my 86 Z28 and it ended up being my exhaust manifold gaskets but not sure what it is on the GTP. Thanks for any input guys.:th_winking:

I will try to post one but im not sure how great the sound will be. Its not loud enough to hear inside the car with the windows up plus the supercharger whine will drown the ticking noise out. And if the windows are down (thats when i hear the noise) the wind noise will be to loud for the camera. And i cant do it when the car is in park or neutral cause it doesnt make the noise then. And when i rev the car with me outside of it doesnt make noise. I have to be between 2-3 thousand with the windows down to hear it.

you can use a mechanics stehascope (wrong spelling), and put it on parts of the mtotor to determine sound, If the injector is clicking, you can prolly put the scope right on the fuel rail and hear it, then you got to find out which one it is.

Ok so I put a screw driver on both fuel rails (front and back) and I heard a clicking sound that sounds almost identical to the noise i hear while driving between 2-3 thousand rpms. So is that my problem? And should only 1 fuel rail be making the sound or both if an injector is noisy?

basically its your injectors.

Run some seafoam with your gas and see if it helps.
OK. But is there there anything else besides sea foam that could get the job done? i mean i'll use it if i have to but i have mixed emotions about that stuff. thanks
