1998 GTP DIC Performance shift mode does not work on my 2000 GTP?? help?

My 2000 GTP's driver information center died and i bought and installed a used one that came off a 1998 GTP. Everything works great except the "performance shift mode" will not light up in the DIC when i push the button on my shifter. Is my car still going into "Performance shift mode" even though the display says otherwise?

the car is still in it, even though its not displayed. FYI, those old ones never came with a bulb for it either.

yeah on my 98 DIC you can see where it says PERFORMANCE SHIFT there's just no bulb to light it up. It lights up on the IP when its on. Your 2000 won't have the bulb in the IP

on my 97 gtp the PS would light up on the DIC and on my 2000 GTP it lights up also. Was is just the 98-99 that didnt have it or something?

i figured out that 98 Grand prixs had a PS light in their dash cluster, not the DIC.

This is true My 99 has a light in the Instrument Panel. You can tell where it says the Performance Shift in the DIC but there is not a bulb there. I'd like to hook it up though

Is there a big difference between reg shifting and the perf shift? Is there any way to put one in on a 01 gtp?

I did not notice a big difference with the "PERFORMANCE SHIFT" on, just an increase in the rpm points when it shifted, and a little firmer. But, I have a tuner program and can make it do what ever I want, so I can have nice comfortable regualar shifts, and then hit the button and have it shift however I want it too, only when I want it too.

lol see on my 99 gtp the DIC lights up when i hit the button, but i can see where there is performance shift on the instrument cluster but it wont... o well haha
