I have a dhp pcm 1.0, and just bought hp tuners. Ive having a problem with reading the pcm, it keeps giving me a checksum error. Is there any way around it, or do i have to go to the dealer to get it flashed back to stock?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
thanks

I have a pt, so hpt is new to me. Have you tried to read another pcm? Do you need another pcm? Also did you check hptuners forum?

I haven't tried another pcm, i might need a stock pcm, i check hp tuners website, but someone mention somethin bought using a tech 2 to reflash it. That might work but then i lose the tune completely and have to start from scratch which sucks. I think the dealer charges over $100 to do that unless i can find a shop with a tech 2. Any other suggestions, this has to of happened to some of you guys out there???

It's probably locked. But HP Tuners is picky about having very specific PCM's for a year of car...meaning that you really need to make sure you have a 2001 PCM so that the year/os of the pcm match.

When it starts to read, it shows the wrong vin # and it says the cars a 99.
I dont know why that is, i told pfyc when i bought it years ago my vin and year so maybe they goofed it up. So what do u guys think i should do, go to the dealer and get it flashed back to stock or try and find a stock pcm?
