Boost Bypass Valve is it the same as a BOV?

Hey guys sorry if this is a stupid question but i guess thats one of the things forums can help with.

I was wondering is the BBV anything like a BOV and if it is would it be possible to swap the 2. Meaning using a BOV on our m90 supercharger.

It just poped into my head and i would love the sound of a BOV (jus personal preference)

Thank you,
Frank

almost like this i would assume

no, they are not interchangeable and act nothing alike. the BBV is more similar to a recirculating valve and its only purpose is to bleed boost under certain conditions. in no way does it dump boost to the atmosphere or anything of the like.

this is not a turbo car, nor is the supercharger a centrifugal type. you cannot use a BOV.
