time to pull the motor guys and make some real horsepower. gotta spare motor in the garage with 100k miles on it and wanna make a little power. ill list my mods to date and would love u guys to chime in on what u think i need to achieve this goal. some rules to start though..im keepin my factory heads i dont care what u say unless this proves impossible. i gotta set ive spent 40+ hours port and polishing and im not giving them up. a machine shop can make adjustments but thats all. the only other rule is i need something thatll take my everyday driving at 20,000 miles a year. oh and every light is a reason to floor it for me so gotta be durable.

mods- ssic but changing out to a full sized in a month, zzp mps, ported/polished lim, sc, and tb, northstar everything, speed daddy headers, devils own meth kit, fully rebuilt tranny with all the fun stuff, full removal of all emission controls and i got hp tuners

well here u go guys.....build my dream motor and please list suppliers u prefer as opposed to just throwing out a part name as some make them better than others and i may not know the difference.
 


Huge Cam, Full CNC'd heads...because they are sex and I am spending your money. 100% Meth and they get the S2IC, #60 injectors, Whipple W140AX or MP112 kit off of a Cobra...forged pistons...L32 rods...and lots of praying. You want 400? Pffft...go for 500.

you need everything plus more to get to 400whp on the m90. with a turbo setup itd be easier, but youre gonna murder transmissions like its nobodys business.

okay...which cam and from who? will i need rockers/springs/pushrods and from who? who do i get the pistons and rods from? my budget is $8000 so im not too worried about the cost, at least i dont think i am.:th_nanana:
 


No need for a built bottom end.

If you're going big blower go for an L67 short block.

If you're using an M90 use an L36 short block.
 


To make a full 400hp m90 build, your going to have to have a stupid cam. After you do this, your going to hate DD'ing this thing. It'll make good power but the powerband will change so much its not as fun to drive everyday. I know multiple people that have gone from an xpz cam to a vs cam or smaller because its just a better dd cam or street cam.

If you have $8000 to go in it, i would get a Z3 kit from zzp with the extended tip turbo, a built trans with a 7/8" chain because the 1"gmr is very hard to find anymore and a 3k stall. A ST5 cam, rollmaster double roller, #130 valve springs. Get a fmic kit from zzp or build one yourself. This should put you around 400 at the wheels or more. The benefits of this setup is that you still can get good gas mileage, the setup is very streetable and its just fun as hell to drive with room for more power.
