gtp vs 5.0 mustang, long funny story

on my way home from dropping off a friend i decide i'm kinda bored so i look for a race. i see a mustang with an exhaust in the distance and decide to catch up to it. i pass him WOT and he follows me. eventually we get to a straight away about an eighth mile long off the highway in a business park. he pulls up next to me and i see hes about 18 or 19 (same as me) and has two passengers (also around the same age). the one in the front yells out "so what'd you do to that thing?" i tell him my mods (pulley, cat back, intake, poly mounts) then he asks how much hp it has, i tell him under 300 and he looks and the driver and laughs. so we go down i mess up my launch and still take him by about 3 lengths. we get to the end and the driver says "i got about 370 horse at the wheels in this thing and im still having trouble gettin it down" obvious BS but we go again. better launch this time and take him by 4 lengths. pulls up again and says "i got more work to do before im ready to race" so i reply "ok next time i'll give you a head start" i love killing mustangs

x2, if the ones you listed are it then we're fearing for your motor. good kill though, i can't stand mustangs

i didn't mod this motor. this is how i bought it. all ive done is replace the 3" intake with a 4" one, replace the shot tranny mount with a poly one and put poly dog bone mounts on. what should i do to make it handle the pulley?

Too funny. Cammed 5.0 wouldn't even be at 370. Those things are rated at likt 220 from the factory. ****ty ****in motor unless they're boosted

what blue said. you've got a lot more air going in, it's gotta come out somehow

crap in factory form yes, I definitely wouldn't call it a ****ty ****in motor tho. I may be a little biased but not blind.

That was fast.... But the only downside is how ugly they are.

I never understood that, the mustang outsold the camaro throughout the eighties yet the camaro looked better.

And they both performed pretty similarly as well.

Don't get me wrong, an old first gen fastback would be awesome to own, but the looks just weren't there in the eighties. And the Mustang II needs quite a bit of work to look good as well.

Different strokes for different folks, especially when it comes to appearance. Performance numbers are irrefutable on the other hand.

I will admit mustang guys seem to overestimate their output for the most part. Local guy has cobra and was hoping to put 600whp down when he got it tuned; made a touch over 400...

Sorry for the hijack, I have a tendency to do that.

i love the notchback fox body's. they're about the only mustang i'd drive. as for that vid, i don't really think you can call the second one stock. i get how it's not completely built up, but there's a decent amount of modding to it, and it shows with the 11.9 or whatever it ran

i had a fox body that had 285hp at the wheels but i still didn't compare to my friends gtp at the time. i'd take him at the launch and before i hit second i'd be done.

Good kill man, LOL at 370. I'm guessing you've never been walked by stang?
